Hey Jumbo, just curious how do you like the performance of that Willwood BBK? I was considering getting it for my AutoX Cooper, until I got ridiculous deal on StopTech BBK.

I HATE the Wilwood BBK. Stay far, far away. It flexes, comes with crap pads, has an SCCA legal parking brake that has broken on me three separate times and makes noise when stopped. Seriously.

StopTech is an order of magnitude better in quality- you can't do any better. Pair it with the right pad and its the best aftermarket kit on the market IMO. Of course... That's now where I work so I might be biased. But since starting there 7 months ago I've learned a metric shit ton about brakes and I'm not blowing smoke.

Guess I could also mention I just picked up my next project car. Paid less than $200 (friend left the country and had to get rid of it) and its a 300whp turbo hard top.

That is surely a good buy. The 3sgte engine has lots of potential and parts are cheap and very easy to find.

Right? I've already spent more than that on the car; a battery, new wires & plugs and all new fluids.

200$?!?!?! Omg I can't buy a freaking shift knob for 200$ let alone a freaking car!!!

It's true - I pretty much stole it. The price I paid was the price of a tow and nothing more. He gave me the freaking car. Things like that just don't happen to me... but I guess there is a first time for everything?

That is surely a good buy. The 3sgte engine has lots of potential and parts are cheap and very easy to find.

And in this case the motor has already been built! The previous owner spent $10K on the motor ALONE. It's capable of 450whp, but the current (upgraded) turbo is only boosting to 300whp.

Sweet

Im not sure if I posted this before, but I upgraded to a new tow horse a while back. The suburban just want cutting it anymore. It's an 05 6.0 powerstroke (yeah I know, but it hasn't given me any issues yet ;). A beast of a truck and makes any other SUV out there seems petite. So far I did a little work like black out the headlights, Superduty wheels, and upgrade mirrors and running boards. Next i have a 08+ Superduty rear bumper that needs to go on and a slight leveling kit. Trying to give it a clean look, nothing crazy like a lift and huge wheels. Perhaps when I get tired of it (and it still runs) I'll do that.

Looks good Nick. I'm not a fan of Ford trucks but I do know most of my friends have switched to big Fords for their heavy duty towing needs and they are really satisfied with them.

Thanks Wayne. I'm not a huge fan of ford either, but this was the only option and I got a smoking deal. The criteria was large SUV, decent mileage, and high towing rating. The 2500 Suburbans and Yukons (or a V10 Excursion) are fuel hogs. In contrast I averaged 18 mpg up and down a mountain pass the other day.
