I'd that TB exhaust? Did it came stock or you already caught a mod bug? Be interested to hear a sound clip, never heard 300cc

Awesome looking bike, btw... congrats

Yea it is the TB. Just the slip on though. No stock sounded like crap! Didn't even want it off the lot sounding like that. Got it last night at 630. Took it on expressway for first time today. Think I have about 170 miles on it already!!!! It's a blast

Won't lie I know the starter bike conversation is a heavily opinionated topic and although I've never been on a 600...the 300 lacks passing power for sure. With self control I don't see why a 600 wouldn't be ok. But again, before people start bashing that I'm not sure as I have yet to be on a 600 but the 300 is dare I say "idiot proof"

That being said I love it. Great beginner bike to learn in for sure!

I'm trying to upload a SHORT clip I took today to photobucket but not sure why it won't work!?

If u going to keep it for a while, look into getting power commander or similar and get a tune, should net you some more ponies

Yea I thought about it. I won't put toooo much money performance wise though. It is what it is as a 300 I will get a bigger bike in time. Must say though would love t have a 636 right now!

Got 225 miles on her so far. Not sure how to really do the break in period though. Haven't paid too much attention to it just kinda been riding. Haven't pushed it as far as I can yet on expressway but other then that been riding normal.

I tried to practice rev matching today and didn't go that great. Don't fully get the process I had a few that were really good but most were jerky and just revving.

Trying to get some people to ride with on the 300 forum. Not as easy as I hoped

duck, you ever driven a maunal trans? Shouldn't be much different. Learn from experience, its all about feel. There and how you roll on the throttle.

Where do you stay around, I need excuse to take the SV out. Plus I would love the check out that 300 of yours.

Dont get all bent up with going with a 300 vs a 636. You did the smart thing. Any bike is better then no bike. Enjoy the ride and learn how to get good at it. I haven't been on a 250/300 to know the powerband but most 600cc supersports at low RPM is pretty tame but once you get past 12k its a whole new animal that not many can tame easily.

It actually stays at my moms (in garage) in a west suburb like 10 miles west of the city. I'm more then happy to take a ride especially to meet new members!!

No I have just used manual cars in parking lots to learn like 3 times several years ago. I did get better at blipping the throttle though and feel I Got it down now for the most part. Taking it in on Friday for the first service and after that plan to learn and do most of my own stuff.

Part of owning a bike is the diy. As u can see installing parts is pretty easy compared to a car. Not much fighting for room or space. Just remember to lock-tite the important bolts.

I'm on the north side of the city. Not many nice roads by me.

Yea I agree. Looking forward to being more hands on with this. If you ever want to meet up just let me know happy to meet up with you! Or assuming another Chicago meet coming up?
