Member's other Modded rides

In order to get my new Club NA horn button mounted, I had to buy a horn ring. Didn't know I needed that but Sparco had what was necessary and now the setup is finally complete.

I removed the red aluminum bezel and stuck with the OEM black. Installed the trim rings and here it is:

Good shot of the steering wheel, minus the glare coming off the horn button

And in a 12 hour marathon session, I finally got the harness bar installed. Had to use modified links - had them shortened to 12" each so they can mount to the roll bar attachment points.

Also managed to install the driver's seat with a permanent bracket (not adjustable) and the harnesses installed.

After the harness bar was installed, the rear speakers fit better laying down (pointing upwards). I don't really care for the look so I have been thinking about hiding them somehow - maybe a custom faceplate that holds both speakers in place and covers them with black screen or acoustic fabric. Still TBD.

I'm pretty happy with the interior - I'm real close to saying I'm finished. I guess there are a couple more things I could tweak here or there but for the most part I love all the matching trim and color theme - the car feels SO much better inside than when I first got it.

Oh yeah, I pulled the trigger on a Rotrex supercharger kit. I should have it by the end of the month. Should be good for about double the horsepower to the rear wheels.

Talk about transformation, she's come a ways. Have any vids of you tracking?

I have only one video on the track and it's not worth posting. From the grandstand my wife taped me going down the straight after a 180 degree turn. That means you are looking at straight line acceleration, which is not at all impressive in the Miata. It's also from about 500 yards away so not at all interesting.

damn brad, that miata's luckiest day was the day you adopted it, what a transformation... looking good bro :)

Seriously and I know it. With such a LOW entry price point, low cost aftermarket parts and available salvage parts, it's too easy.

Nice!!! Will you be banned from Club NA? :p

Club NA as in the first generation Miata, NA. NB generation was the same body but without the pop-up headlights. NC is the current generation.

nice ride. saw this on the nyc streets, fender flares, sits low and a few more mods:

Installed all new control arms and BC coilovers on the Audi over the last two days. Still need to adjust the coils a bit (lower the front) but am very happy with the new ride quality.

Guessing this counts as a modded ride? Put some 12in ss wheels on it recently and a stereo system. Fun to drive around the community. Tops out at about 20mph too so it will kick most of the other carts.:rotfl:

Looking Good. How is ride quality on BC's? Any improvement over old coils?

I did order a set of BC's for my car with 10K front 12K rear springs.

Its just ok so far. The tires rub in the rear and the front is bouncy. I need to raise the rear a tiny bit, lower the front, and increase the front damping.

:good: nice!

Well, I finally weaponized the Miata. I pulled the trigger on a brand new Kraftwerks Rotrex kit group buy and installed it over the last two weekends. I put a good 20 hours into it but some of that was because my Miata has a lot of aftermarket gear on it, requiring some workarounds.

I'll start off by saying the results are awesome. I doubled the horsepower to the rear wheels and respect that power on the road. This NOTHING like my turbo FX - I'm actually scared of the FX power. The Miata now commands respect, not fear. It feels awesome though - this is how it should have come from the factory!!!

Very nice. What psi does the kit make in that form? Are you still using the stock bottom end?

How's Big Silver coming along?

Yes the bottom end is completely stock, freshly rebuilt at 218,000 miles on the clock. Today I have 226,000 miles, less than 100 of those have been supercharged. Saturday (yesterday) I finished the install and test drove with the Rotrex for the first time. Went out again today just for fun - drove around for about an hour.

Actually, I don't really know how many psi the blower is putting out because the kit comes with no gauges/monitoring. But from what I know about supercharged Miatas, it is somewhere between 9-12 psi. I did plan on eventually upgrading to a standalone EMS and at that point I'll probably add in some monitoring. For now I'll enjoy this and when it starts to feel stale I'll tweak it. Based on the dyno from Powerfab (after the rebuilt motor was installed) and the dyno from Kraftwerks from their test mule, I should have gone from 112whp to 196whp.

As one of my friends said yesterday, "so you weaponized your Miata?"

The Silver FX has become the car I use when it rains, or when I need any type of transport space for people or things. It is consuming oil which isn't good but runs just fine, even if the mpgs are a little low. With the upcoming move to California, the current plan is to take the FX in to Powerfab any time before we move. I'm sure it will be there for a while after we have moved and when the car is finished, I'll come back and pick it up and then drive it back to California. I told the owner he needed to drive it himself for a month to fully root out any issues and driveability tuning. We move in July.

Got the 2012 Honda CR-Z for a daily driver. Added Eibach pro coilovers, Enkie 18", Clazzio seats JDM Blue interior LEDs and Polk speakers for now.
