invidia exhaust

Has anyone installed the Invidia system on their own? I have read quite a few reviews and it sounds like its really not that bad and for the 03-08 version...its simple bolt on.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these systems. LMK!

Simple bolt on. The hardest part was to get the old system off due all the rusted nuts/bolts. I see you're from Phillies, you might run into the same situation.

Chainsaw, sawzall, 5lb. sledge, blowtorch, be gentle.....

Soak everything in PB blaster, Kroil, or a similar oil based lubricant. Let it sit a couple hours, you will be fine

For a 6 yr old model, I didn't have any problem installing/uninstalling the invidia on my own. Have all the tools you need ready on the side and take all the time you need. I'ts a couple hour job. I loved the sound of it on my FX.

I thinking about pulling the trigger on the Invidia... where is the best place to buy it? and by best place I mean cheapest... haha if anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it!

The few that have mentioned the invidia can be loud... to what extent? if the stock exhaust with CAI/plenum spacer is say a 5/10 what is the invidia over time? Do they not make the HKS legamax for 1st gen?

I recently installed an Invidia. My impressions (stock 5/10):

Loudness = 7.5/10. Louder. People can easily tell you have something different from stock.

Tone = 9/10. Very deep/different from stock. Some familiar VQ sound at high rpm keeps this from being a 10. Probably the deepest tone you can get without massive drone at all rpms (see below).

Drone = Yes. Low/Medium. From 3000-3200rpm

Drone/Impact = 6.5/10. Fine for my daily driving.

Hope you find this helpful.

Finally got the invidia installed, sounds amazing... anyone dyno to see gains on 1st gen 35 from this system.? At what point do you guys suggest getting a tune done?

Somewhere in the 5-7 HP range. If money usn't an issue go for the tune, if you are watching your wallet try to finish up all your basic power performance mods 1st then tune as it can get expensive......

I like the raspy sound of the stock exhaust...but thisinvidia exhaust sounds damn good. My system seems to be in good working order (since my FX has never seen any icy\snow covered salted roads) but I may have to get one of these systems in the near future

I like my invidia a lot! But I must say I prefer the sound of the Ark exhaust! But the invidia is a nice exhaust!

I'll say it again. This exhaust is awesome. Especially in a parking garage... You will sound like a humungous wasp at low rpms.. Some droning tho.... That's why you have a crankin system tho..

Would headers affect the tone of the exhaust or just "loudness"? I've been running the Invidia for 10 days now and although it sounds great, I have to admit I'm missing that OEM howl.

This is $64.00 dollar question (actually it can get quite a bit more expensive than $64.00 =)) headers will increase the loudness for sure, it will get a bit more unique (throaty) but it won't lose the drone OR bring back that original OE tuned exhaust note. HFC's will just drive up the noise factor. I suggest that you run the Invidia for another 45 days and let it open up completely. At that point you can make the call what you want to do. Exhaust and flow dynamics are difficult to predict. I do know that the Nismo plus headers (leaving the stock cats to start) would be a great combination. Exhaust tuning can be a bottomless pit, best to do one piece at a time if you are trying to find that "best sound". I remember when I installed the Nismo (without anything else) and it was awesome. I now have long tube headers, 300CEL HFC's, the Nismo and a single SS resonator and it's pretty nice but I still feel like I am dialing it in........
