invidia exhaust

yea thats the same thing im doing i ordered the invidia gemini catback an if you want the same speak to the great man himself gordon he helpped me with my ordering process great guy

The Invidia has a nice sound to it but definitely is different from oem. If you want to retain most of the original sound but with a little more oomph then check out the Nismo S-tune catback made for the 350Z. A little modification and it fits the FX like a charm.

Question: Has there ever been a back to back driver audio test (maybe at a meet) to see what the difference is w/regards to drone at specific RPM's between the Invidia and the Nismo?

No such test has been done to my knowledge (which is very little I'm sad to say). My experience with the Nismo is that of no drone whatsoever. I've driven it on short, long, hot, cold, etc conditions and it has always been quiet from inside the cabin. Being a factory (oem) supplied part I would expect it to be very conservative in its db output and very well shielded from excess resonation.
The two times i have heard my exhaust from outside with someone else driving have always shocked me in how loud it gets at WOT. I hear very little of it from the driver's seat.

+1 the Nismo is queit in the cab

Ever seen the nismo exhaust applied to the 2G?
 
I would be very interested to buy one for the 2G.... Only thing that holds me back with the current systems is the drone that's produced.. I once had a full 3" full exhaust on a car and the drone just killed me... It didn't bother me so much, but my then girlfriend was so annoyed she nearly killed me :rofl:
