"mrlerry"

Alright just got back from Fujita and have a few things to announce...

1. They do not have anything made for the 2009+, they worked on a G37 and FX35 (03-08) so they had to completely test fit G37 ones on my car. Almost everything fit, new brackets need to be made. The G37 ones are too short so they are going to redesign a new version 2 especially for our cars.

2. Dyno will be sometime in mid January

3. I feel absolutely no difference low end but high end pulls barely (maybe 1-2hp gain?)

4. SOUND IS WONDERFUL! It really brings out the VQ.

I will be going back in a week or two to have new intakes put in (new ones will use the stock cover and air filters will sit under them for the most air / cold air. The filters were semi warm after running them from Temecula to Irvine through Ortega so it's definitely not sucking up that much hot air. Here are pictures, video later tonight/tmrw.

^^^ Said he'll be back in a week or two for a test fit of the new design... It's been 10 days so just wondering if he's heard anything from the shop.. or should I have asked in 3 days :tongue (2): ?

no you should ask in january after everythings done.:ninja:

Man that is a nice looking kit....Is Fujita going to submit this kit to the Air Resource Board? Unless they plan to keep this as an "offroad" version? It's going to take approx 3-6 months before this kit is available to you guys as a kit. Plus making all the brackets and having them ready to go.

I would want the CARB-EO # so I could pass smog in CA without taking it off and putting the stock intake back on. It wont pass visual without the sticker. I know you guys have till at least 2014 in CA on an 09, but still its a piece of mind I would want. And if for whatever reason a cop pulls you over and asks to look at your engine..he can give you a ticket if you don't have the sticker.

I went through this with Stillen and my Frontier. They tested a kit for my SC Frontier(21HP increase :eek.:) and it took almost 8 months before they sent me the CARB-EO# making it legal. I think the kit was available for purchase, but only as an offroad version till the sticker was available.

Good Luck guys.

I think they are planning to do just that, it'll take a while but at least it'll be carb legal soon enough. As an update I am on my way to Fujita for a final test fit of the new version of the short ram intake. I'll post pictures when I get the chance, keep the GB rolling!

Any developments on this? I need to replace my filters and it's either K&N drop-inns or wait for this; can't wait long however.

Hey lerry, same comment one month apart... Care to elaborate...?

: I'm pre calling this one, this is gonna end up being a similar thread to my Eibach one. I don't know what it is about the 2nd gen FX's, but it's like they are cursed..

Injen did over 60 runs on the dyno, and over 19 revisions of intakes on my FX before fitting mine. Even after mine, they were only able to get a +5HP increase (which later Dyno test reveal a -15Hp) result. Since Fujita is really a rip off (one of the Injen employee's stole their design prints & had them remade in Japan under the name Fujita) of Injen, I don't see this intake really producing any real HP increases..

This is of course no fault of mrlerry, it's just one of those things that happens with us 2nd gen testers.. So far the only real HP increases come from K&N air filters.

On a side note though, I would love to be proven wrong on this!!!!!!!!!

thanks again mrlerry for trying them out, your FX is coming along great!

sorry for the bad news of not being able to push anything out just yet. I've been running back and forth from Fujita, an hour away from where I live. the reason for the delay is because the original design did not meet our liking in terms of power gains and such. I am working with them once again in redesigning the entire intake as opposed to just a revision, don't worry 2nd gens, time will tell =]

Hollywood, you are the best and you know it all, thank you
