BBK GB feeler thread

Nice job on the weigh in, I weighed each boxed then guessed on the cardboard weight got close on the rears, off by a few Lbs. on the fronts (I thought the rotor weights would be closer to the same).....as I said, very curious to see what the stock gear weighs in at......When are you planning to install Andy?

Lance, a big snow storm head into the Chicago area today and it's too cold to work in the garage. So I'll drool over them each day as they seat in my basement until the weather a little warmer. You're installing them today, right? Can't wait to see them on. Make sure you take lots of pictures

Install postponed. Youngest daughter sick at home, wife consulting with start-up web firm, sitter unavailable....:frown: Probably not a good idea to pump her full of children's Tylenol and bring her to the shop with me =)

IDK, I plan to take of my wheel off and wipe it down once a day, hahahaha. Just kidding.
Sad to say, but I can see that happening..

Better off with benadryl so she'll doze right off lol.

Lance, it's all good. Being a dad myself, I feel so helpless when seeing one of mine is sick. Hope your daughter feel better soon.

Yes...kids first. But I understand that itch to get it installed. I was chomping at the bit to get mine in as well.

Hope your daughter feels better.

Brakes are on.....Just got home from a client dinner, no pics yet. What I found out during the install:
• JBT BBK looks amazing
• The rear rotors weigh 10.5lbs more than OEM (but they are 2" larger in diameter)
• A rod bracket that was welded to the Invidia pipe on the driver side rear had broken loose and ripped a hole in the pipe (shop welded it up)
• The mid chassis brace did not clear my cats (what is it with my friggin' cats!) Going to be up for sale, Jeff?
• I pulled my lower rear GT spec brace off because it was hashed
• I raised the rear CO's 3/8" (looked too low, rubbed occasionally and I'd like to add 5mm spacers for near flush)
• I changed the 10mm spacers in the front to 5mm (will test tomorrow for rub)
• I need to bed my brakes ASAP

Congrats! :congrats:

This is how I felt right after my install :marchmellow:

I figured the mid chassis brace wouldn't fit for us. Thanks for confirming it and saving me the trouble of ordering and returning/selling a set.

Sorry, I meant to address the mid chassis issue. With four 1/2" spacers on my ride it would fit fine but then it would hang even lower and I am already dragging here n' there. Lafx did say he mounted his up, it fit okay and it made a difference.....Sidebar - I was saddened to have to trash the lower rear, feel like I am going to lose control of the car now and crash into something.

Whoooo whoooo!!!!

Can't wait for the bed in cycles...sorry officer but its a necessary part of dialing in a new brake system.

I recently had a chance to get access to a lift thanks to my father in law and did a once over of my rear braces. They are beat up but there is no dammage aside from cosmetic. I am tempted to get the mid chassis but will wait for now.

I did my bed in on some deserted side streets and was paranoid that cops would show up. Thankfully i got through it with no issues. Wait until you get them nice and hot. That's when you will really feel the braking power.
