GTR Wheels knockoffs?

GTR wheels are great because it's such a subtle addition (those coming from stock gen1 20's) yet adds so much to the overall aggressiveness of the car.

To the OP, if 3 wheels = 1k, the hassle and 4th wheel cost is not worth it. Scout and save for the real thing, not that far off.

That and coming from someone who has purchased singles, IF you can find a set in good condition it is MUCH easier to purchase them as a GB.

BTW - Just checked on the set of GT-R wheels that were on iS classifieds for $1,750.00, they are gone......

There are plenty available for less than $2000 and paint isn't too much more. I'm not defending my choice as much as saying that they are certainly worth the cost to upgrade when compared to what else is available.

just want to add, the oem gtr wheel color has no color code, so if anybody is thinking of buying a really abused set and power coat them to oem color, its not going to be exact match. Also the oem gtr wheels are in 3 stage paint which is more time consuming to do and more expensive to do. So if you pick the wheels in individually the color might not match, especially if they were refurbished.

I pick up my set for around 2300$ canadian and people have mix reaction when they hear the price i pay it. Some even specifically ask me why i didn't go for 22 inch vossens in the same price range.

I like it and its subtle, quality built, and lightweight. All of the qualities i value. I know I would be satify with the gtr rims for a long time until i save up for a set of 3 piece 22inch. At that point the gtr rims would be my winter set. I'm sure I will like the rims even more once i actually put them on the car

Anyways if anyone bug u for spending 2000$ on "non name brand" stock wheel. just tell them the gtr rims are rays:tongue (2):

jbaker1121 - Yea I know that's why I said I prob won't have the funds til then but hopefully I can find some sooner. Keep me up to date on the other stuff I mentioned.

Sydney - Thanks I was just thinking about that. Found a few on ebay already..ranging from $2000-5000.

Logan - Damn really?

^ That surprises me, I searched the classifieds and didn't see them. I assumed that they had been sold and pulled. If they are still available that's an good price.

Find me some other 20 inch good looking wheels that weigh 27 lbs each for less than $2000 then...

under 2Gs? lol
JB tellin ppl 3500 for his set. Dont know where u get 2 From.
Also If im running good rims, Im not gonna run them on shitty tires, each one of my tires range from $350-450 (prbbly cause I usually ride 19s.)
Do the math.

So rather spending Easy 3K on some GTR rims, U can pick up some Nice looking Forged rims, even 2-3piece. to lower the weight around the same price range.

Either serious concave, or serious Lippage. But GTR wheels arent worth it IMO.

In the greater scheme of things the tires for the FX in 20" sizes are priced lower than the tires available for other sizes and applications. 22" tires can run 2X as much as the 20" tires easily (and more, a lot more lol).

My Spec X's were relatively inexpensive for a set of 295/45/20s on the FX with certs included. Just for rear tires on my 19" wheels I paid about 300 more for some PS2s.

It's really all relative. In 2003 when 20" wheels were a novelty as OEM equipment the prices were much higher. Now they are very reasonable. And although there are some sh***y tires out there in that price range, I wouldn't consider what we all have to be bottom of the barrel, but they are still quite far price wise from the cream of the crop.

We do know what works & what's out there, & were also very fortunate to have a selection that wont break the bank. for example, the Hankooks ROCK!. Speed rating of W, xtra load rating for our fat asses & killer looks. They handle better than the Scorpions for a fraction of the price. I've had a few diff sets, so I have some experience. Sometimes you get more for your money, & with tires, we do.

anyone running 275/315 stagger here ?
I was looking at that set up, if I actually picked up a FX lol
x5 4.8s with 315s in the back look so sexy =X

I was in the same boat, but my budget wouldn't stretch for the 4.8is. Now I can find them, but it's a little more than a year late lol. Think long and hard. If you like to mod and are used to Infiniti prices go with an FX instead of the X5. If you like to mod a lot choose the FX35. I specifically chose the 45 because I didn't want to take that road with this vehicle (finishing school is far too important to get wrapped up in modding again for me). I almost pulled the trigger on a couple cars in the last few weeks, but I have to focus on my main goal and not get sidetracked myself. Only time will tell if that'll actually happen hahahaha.

If you were just saying that the 315s out back on an X5 is sexy, well then I misinterpreted lol.:smug:

Oha and turbocad is running a staggered setup, not entirely sure on the sizes though.

I've got 315/30-22's in the rear and 265/35's in the front, kinda similar look to the X5 in a way but I'm way lower stance than that. I wish my tires were cheap too:confused:
