Does anyone know if they make knockoff gtr wheels? If they do how can you tell the difference between the real thing and the knockoff? The reason why I'm asking is cause some guy is selling 3 of them for around $1000.

knockoff gtrs? the closest you can get it refurbished. otherwise, save up. they aren't cheap to come by.

If you want to find a cheap set, hit up GTR and nissan forums like Nico or NAGTROC, usually members there are selling them and may cut a deal. good luck!

or, Buy mine :) 3500+shipping, freshly painted a custom gunmetal with basically new tires for FX spec usage

There may be some Nissan markings with numbers like 20x10, etc. stamped onto the rim. Could be on the front or back. That's probably best way to tell if its OEM.

aerobfa-thanks asked the seller for some pics

GTR rims on FX looks like doo doo IMO.

I'll take stock 20s with spacers and slammed on coils any day over a GTR set.

lol have fun with the crappy offsets, even 25mm and they arent close....plus non-exposed nuts are meh IMO

Wheels are very subjective items and are based on personal tastes and preferences. Sometimes what looks good doesn't perform well...sometimes it does (form following function).

Like everyone said before, if there are knock-offs they will not be forged and lightweight. They will be cast, heavy, and lower quality wheels.

GT-R wheels are basically just better looking stock wheels. Not sure how one could say OEM wheels are more favorable.

fat(er) tires on the fx. The GTRs will be pretty solid even on NYC roads.

The 275/40/20 have protected my 20s from huge potholes before. Hit deep 5-6inch deep rectangular cutout on the ground @ 50mph three times in the past couple days, all 4 wheels, and no damage. whew...

I think you should try to avoid it :tonguey:

Find me some other 20 inch good looking wheels that weigh 27 lbs each for less than $2000 then...

Thats very subjective...
First of all not all sets of GTR wheels are priced less than $2000 at this point in time. Just because you got yours for less doesn't mean that everyone else can.
Second everyone is different. Some people have hookups, others do not. Someone with a set of Volk TE37s/Blitz BRW09MAGs can say the same thing you just said and they will have a better wheel than the stock GTR in looks, quality, and weight.

I understand the need to defend ones choice, but just because someone disagrees it's no need to pounce on them.

^ Agreed, I prefer the meaty subtle OEM style GT-R lightweight wheels. There are many wheel designs out there that just try too hard......When you mount wheels up that carry too much visual significance they detract from the vehicle they're carrying - IMO It should be about the car, not the wheel.

There are plenty available for less than $2000 and paint isn't too much more. I'm not defending my choice as much as saying that they are certainly worth the cost to upgrade when compared to what else is available.

2G's are still a lot of moolah to some people, but there are a lot of alternatives out there in that price range and some are close to or even under the stock GTR wheel weights in the same sizes. I used to be a wheel whore until I got the FX and understand that quality wheels can cost a lot. If I had it to do all over again (which may or may not happen) I would have gone forged multi-piece 22's, most likely IForged or for a change (and something different than I had before) ZE Forged Acute.
