KIDO Racing Coilovers 03-08 FX

no war here, to be honest doesn't matter to me if you guys choose them over me. it would only bother me if a customer bought a product, it broke and then they had no recourse.

of course going on a public forum and bashing other companies may not be the best way to get your brand out there...

you can see us in d-sport and modified mag...every month

I've seen BC Coilovers advertised in a lot of US car magazines too. That ups the brand image and brand value (at least to me), as they are showing a presence in the US marketplace.

I did my research when I bought my big brake kit -- in summary most of the calipers are made from the same company or similar. My end choice was having a US distributor and US customer service. Don't get me wrong, all the parts were quality. I raise this because many of the coil over companies also make calipers too.

Think the correct way to put it is many companies also sell calipers as well.

Example.

Top speed, D2, Megan etc all sell whatever they can have branded for them. They may be able to spec certain aspects of the product to their branding but they really do not specialize in anything particular which is up the buyer if that stuff matters or not.

No war here. Just want to give out some information about BC, which a reputable company in doing what they offering.

this is correct about the factories. bc does manufacture other brands, but not kido racing. there is no need to come on bashing another company to promote yours. simply state the facts if you think yours compete, these guys are all educated and will pick whats right for them.

I do have some questions for you. If your product fails (which costs a nice $225 extra by the way) since your in taiwan and the customers are here in the USA, how are they going to get a product warrantied? just a question i was thinking as i didnt see any US dealers.

I can tell by the label on the coilover its not made in the bc factory...it looks a bit more like the alibaba, d2,fortune auto type coilover to me.

Mate,
I won't to say I promote KIDO racing products.
I just say the real situation in Taiwan.
The USA market maybe BC was more popular and you also be a dealer with them.
So you love their products ,I can't to say anymore.
I just to say what I know to let people understand that all.
I also can say how much do you know about BC?
Are you in Taiwan.
Maybe you never come to Taiwan or visit BC factory.
But I live in Taiwan and know all of them, that is why I can say that.
BC is the nice products ,D2,XYZ,KSPORT,G4 was all the same factory.
Have I said their was poor.I think not.
If you really want to say BC,no problem. How much can you get for 1 kit ?
I also can tell you,BC price in China was very very low.
Let everyone to think about why.
Sorry to say that all .Just to clear all things.:tongue (2):

I just came back from Taiwan. And my buddy in Taiwan just visited BC's factory yesterday. The owner is a good friend of my buddy's family friend.

I suggest you go take some economy & import / export courses. Tariff, taxes, shipping, margin, advertising, labor of stocking (both US and Taiwan labor), material handling etc. All need to be factored in the final selling price.

The pricing for BC is considering reasonable price by comparing the above and the average income people made in North America and comparing with People in Taiwan and China.

Those are just facts in every business. No war, just some facts. :wink (2):

Thanks mate,
You have your choice.but I hope to clear.
I really not to promote any brands or anthing else.
Hope you can understand.

Shipping kills the KIDO's, end of story. They aren't proven enough to be worth the extra price over BC's, not matter how good that color is.

I just ordered and received a set of both and the Kidos were actually cheaper, including shipping. They also employ a spring whose overall diameter (the helix, not the round bar) is significantly less than that used in the BC's.

The two benefits of the BC's that I can see are:
1) The right angle on the damping adjustment used in the BC coils prevents the need to remove the rears in order to adjust them.
2) The lower mount is welded instead of screwed onto the shock. This probably doesn't matter for me since I don't plan to ever run 90lbs wheels, but it is a better assembly imo.

Kido told me the design of the adjuster in the rear is not a right angle in Kido to ensure maximum shock travel.

Any truth in that Tim?

Glad you got them. Shipping is pretty fast from Taiwan, right?

I don't know about the shock travel. I'd have to pull one apart to see how that part works, and I don't really want to do. I don't see any reason to disbelieve them...

The shipping was faster for the Kidos than it was for the BC's.

Well if you drop the car enough, you can still bottom out the shock. I thought that was the great thing about coilovers, you can adjust the shock travel when you lower. I had an issue w/ the BC install at first and rode around on factory rear shocks for a couple of days w/ the coilover springs. The car bottomed out everywhere because I was near the end of the factory shock travel, it sucked.

I'm not sure if there would be enough difference between BC's and Kido's to matter though.

Does shock travel even matter as much on lowered road vehicles though?

Not sure about the upper and lower limits in an absolute sense, or if it matters, but the Kido damping is 40 way adjustable as compared to the BC's 30 way.

The Kidos at full damping are uncomfortably stiff.

So track ready! What's your review so far?

I haven't quite dialed them in yet, but so far so good. I wanted the H&R feel at a slightly lower than H&R ride height with damping control to tone it down for road trips. Assuming I can get the rear camber under control at my current height, they will be perfect. Zero buyer's remorse.

Do they offer kits for the Routan? :p

They'd be on if they had them=)

Ah keep forgetting you're in Portland. Craving Voodoo donuts with some Stumptown coffee.
