Re: the side mirror turn signals, I have the "Turbocad specials" he uses Mercedes signal bodies then cuts and custom fits them into the FX case housing. They work well from both the sides and front.

Nice Lance. That the "new" garage? And is that a X5 or X6 wheel I see???

The tails, LED mirrors and headlights look so good -- like the detail on the tail lights of the body match paint. Rookie copier =)

Yep, the new garage. Excited to go to the office just so I can park the FX indoors now =) and that would be a 4.8 X5 and it looks very nice in white.

Hah the rookie design elements are pretty tight, he did such a nice job and thought everything out fairly well. I was lucky enough to have work done at the shop where he had the "pacer" parked on the floor for a month so each time I was there I'd hang out and look it over carefully...I wanted to do the tails for some time but when I knew I could combine the color match and tint with Marek's Euro light set-up I HAD to do it.

Thanks Viet. Hey, you set the stage for a lot of the body work we are all implementing today....I also went for your "full mirror match" less the fill work you had done......

Just a thought on how to reunite with your ride - Drive up for the Westcoast regional this fall

Hey.

Just adding to the post and everyone who so far went with Marek's rings. Got them last month and after a day of taking the headlights apart, and spray painting, here is my final effect. I must say they definitely catch the attention and look amazing. This whole MOD makes the FX look so much different.

Here is a few pics before, during and after.

Would love to join in on the meet, will see if time permits. The widebody has been done for 4 years now. Haven't changed much on it but the color and opening the front bumper for more air. Still love it to this day. :tonguey:

Still remember the first time seeing it all done, was soo happy it came out the way I wanted it to.

Niceeee. I really like the black housing with chrome ring. Any chrome peel off as you taking the tape of? Any close up pic of the chrome ring? Are those the Frog Tape that you use?

Yeah, great job with the lights!

Love to see a first generation FX45 modded.

Very impressive leaving the chrome rings, Marek did that for mine and had a heck of a time as the chrome is very fragile.

Thanks!! I didn't want to black them out all the way, and thought that the chrome rings would be a nice touch. As to peeling, I wasn't aware that those lights actually have a tendency to peel until I started working on the left headlight. :eek:First I used the standard blue painters tape, and that one apparently just grabs it and peels it away. I am missing a very small chunk, luckily on the inside of the ring, right by the daylight, so you can't see it. FOr the other light I went with the green tape, and didn't really apply much pressure to it, just made sure I covered what I wanted and sprayed think layers to avoid overspray. I will try to take some closeups tomorrow. One thing I can say for those of you who are thinking of doing it, just take your time with peeling the tape of:wink:

Thanks Chedman.

After I was done I e-mailed Marek the whole collection of pics, and he told me he went through a few chrome housings until he got one that survived. But at least now we know :)

Nice job Getlucki! Now I can finally see how AE's would look on a copper. Been thinking about this for some time now.

You should go for it!! Your ride is already sweet, but just add them lights and I don't think people will be able to handle all that hotness:tup:

Go for it Andrew, hahahaha.

LOL, stop. These are the "things" that got me in trouble to being with. :skull:

Thanks! Between AEs, turn signal mirrors and euro tailights, I can't figure out which to do. The headlights look fantastic. I love the contrast inside with the chrome rings. What did you put on your bumper? Is it a piece of chrome trim?

Yup, just stuck a thick piece of chrome trim there. Was going to swap the entire bumper for an '06, but was too costly with paint job and all, so I cheated

Oh yeah, you were the only person that has spotted my chrome "eyelids" that Marek made me.

 Ed, I notice you got chrome rings on black housing too.
As matter of fact, I even call upon our resident lighting expert Marek to consult him on how he did yours, but mine peel so badly that I have to spray it all black.
