BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

They have. I think Jeff has said at least once that the coilovers can only go about as low as the tires allow. Usually the tire will hit the fender well before you've dropped it all the way down. Then you have to worry about hitting bumps and pushing the tire up.

Here is a more recent picture, I could still drop it another .25 in the fronts, and another .50 in the rear (lowest the coilovers will go), but I am scraping the belly pan on parking blocks and minor dips already. My wheels setup is a bit tucked and I run 275/40/20 tires, with the offset of the gtr rims and tire sizes I am pretty sure you will not be able to fully drop the coilovers to their lowest settings.

these are the pics i was talking about.
I would LOVE to roll around like this...maybe a little bit lower.

(would want lower in the front....tuck the tire a bit?)

what's the verdict? I'm working on a photochop soon and using fxlr8's pics along with other vehicle to determine possible slammage

Personally, I prefer a uniform fender gap. Having it that low with your wheel/tire size makes it look to me like your wheels are too small. It looks unplanned and "wrong" to my eyes. Just my opinion though...

EDIT: You should also have some custom Infiniti center caps made.

I wish there was a facepalm smiley...:tongue (2):

I've always wanted to use this one: :banghead:

want 4x4 with huge fender gap raise it wannna slam it drop it haha

need more coilover pics and less jb

+1......Why is this thread filled with JB's pictures when its a BC thread and he doesn't even have a set yet on his FX?:confused.: Lets keep the thread on topic and keep the pictures for people who actually have this on their ride. JB, pull the trigger already!

that's why my fenders are rolled and you would adjust the camber so the tire doesn't hit the fender as bad...

I think zero fender gap looks best, but a little tuck is nice too.
Aslo, I dont need to get custom ones made...the OEM G37/G35 center caps fit fine, I am just elaving them as nissan right now so its easier to identify the wheels lol.

to get an idea of what is applicable with the BCs. I'll probably get them when I am back from london because my struts are getting bad anyways.

So with now more and more guys riding this set i would like to know more experiances in how this kit rides....??
I have stock schocks with H&R spring and deff want this kit. How compared to my set up does this kit drive. There are probably few guys who already had ther car lowered with springs.
DO you find the ridecomfort harder then with springs. I find our schocks far the weak and wobbely. Do these schock improve this.
Or is it still weak and could a harder spring setup be suggested....??

An extra Bump on my prior question. Pics are fine off course but i think this tread also could use some intel in driving experiances.......

Not sure how many more times it can be said the same way. Everybody loves the BCs and the Megan's better than H&Rs and Eibachs. Everybody. Don't know a single person that does not like the coil-overs. It's hard to get a universal opinion because of all the installation options people have with ride height and dampening levels because they are all adjustable. No two people have the exact same settings. You can't use what one person says unless you have the same wheels and use the same suspension settings.

There are zero negatives to the coil-overs, especially when you consider the warranty - $99 replacement for any corner for any reason from BC.

It's not something anybody should need to think about unless it is about the money. Performance wise, you can't do better than this type of suspension. High speed, low speed, curves & straights are all better with the coilovers.

+1

It's really hard to explain/understand unless you've driven them. But it's just so much better. I think the ride change alone is worth $500 if not more, and then adjustability is the other $500 or so.

It was weird driving over bumps and thinking I would have to brake but being able to just glide right over them. Train tracks especially.

I know what you guys mean with the advances of coilover systems. I have a wheel/tyre/tuning shop here in the netherlands and sell a lot of coilovers so i driven many of them.
Thing is that coilovers or even lowering also depends on the car......wheelbase......weight......sort of suspension ( mc pherson or ridget ) your car has. On some cars the ridecomfort in or decreases far more then on other cars.
I don't know that on our car. With having the SUMMIT ( GT SPEC ) bracing and H&R springs i do not want the ride to be much harder then it is. Hard to explain when i still find the damper quite soft like i said. I have 22's so i know that doesn't help that much either.
But as you know in or decreasing the damping hardness stands asside from the springrate and that hardness.

But hey you all seem to be happy and i really want it too so i will find out soon enough....just have to sell some wheels first and earn some money :tonguey:

It really cannot be explain but I ride 22's and I am lowwwwwwwwww enough to have the tuners looking at me. but the ride is not even compromised at all. worth every penny instead of cutting springs as far as the dampering the lower you are then the more dampening you will need to not rub fenders.
