The cats will likely provide more hp gains than the exhaust itself. I'd expect 5-7 HP out of the exhaust and hopefully an additional 10hp from the cats. Regardless, it should sound better. (I hope)
I've heard too many stories of check engine lights, emissions test failure, bad smelling exhaust creeping into the cabin and too loud of exhaust.
Apparently the cheaper the cats the worse they sound to some degree. I think I'm going to take my chances with the carsound cats and see how it turns out. Hopefully I don;t regret going that route.
Anyone happen know the dimensions of the stock cats? I haven't had a chance to crawl under and measure.

Apparently the cheaper the cats the more likely they are to completely fall apart internally and start rattling constantly, causing the need to remove them and send them back to the manufacturer, and the worse they sound to some degree. I think I'm going to take my chances with the carsound cats and see how it turns out. Hopefully I don't regret going that route.
