What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I made an exhaust clip:

Trying to decide if I want HFC's/Test Pipes and/or headers.

I really don't want any more volume, and I love the tone, but i want MOAAARRR POWEERRR!!

EDIT: Exhaust Clip fixed. Sorry about that.

go with hfc. I heard that the FI resonated hfc will give you that power but wont effect the tone much. best bang for the buxs. unless you can find cheap headers and install yourself ( pain in the ass if you ask me)

Headers would probably not be a self install. I am all for wrenching on my own cars, and DIY, but pulling the engine is beyond me.

On the VQ engine, header is very doable without photomontage engine. Tim (tchuck) has a DIY here.

Tim was the one that said if he were to do it again, it would have been easier to pull the engine.

I'll check out that thread again, see how I feel.

i did mine without pulling the engine. Personally its dooable but it takes LOTS of time and its not as easy as the diy looks.

spent 6 hrs waxing my fx with mothers fx synwax , it was a paste but I highly recommend it! also took off all the spalsh gaurds in the wheel wells and gave them a good cleaning because we have lots of snow in Canada

If you want power but no noise increase, get a tune. Lots of guys see double digit hp/tq increases after tuning with bolt ons. HFC's are good for like 4-5 whp and 8 ft/lbs tq. or something like that. Less than the tune. And HFC's will increase noise and/or add rasp, no way around it. The catalyst is less restrictive so more noise there. And aftermarket cats use thinner metal than OEM so more noise transmission there. Same reason headers will add noise, thick iron manifold vs. thinner steel tubes. I have a set of Berk HFC's that I bought and haven't installed because I'm 50/50 right now on whether the noise is worth the minor power increase. My other car is already super loud so I don't know if I want to go down that road in the FX.

yes i did install a new bat. its not the battery im pretty sure. its happened before but was on off on really cold days which leads me to te ac amp. im heading to Tremblant (quebec) this weekend. should be interestingly cold

So for the last few weeks I been talking about getting the optima yellow top battery for the FX and I was close to ordering it on Thursday during the snow storm we had up here. Well Friday morning I started the car with the remote start and went outside to clean off the snow and it was running. Came back inside and got ready only to have the battery completely die. I was able to get my boy to give me a jump and headed straight to Nissan to get a new battery. The guys at Nissan were actually amazed that I still had the stock battery on my FX since 2008. I guess no optima yellow top for me anytime soon. Hopefully this battery last me another 5 years

I had an optima in my Pathfinder and loved the deep cycle options but honestly it wasn't neccessary since I didn't have a lot of electronics in her to run it down a lot. I opted for a Die Hard when it was time to swap the FX battery and it's been going great thus far.

Newbie here, cool place. Lots of very nice FX's.

I am am installing new fog light bulbs. Got new high powered LED bulbs, should look much better than stock.

The stock bulbs looked yellow compared to headlights.

On my way to the tint shop. I've been waiting till after the holidays to tint my front windows because its illegal where I live and over christmas they have random sobriety check points. Wouldn't wanna have them pull my tint.
