What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

^^Excellent Ian, let's hope they hold better. When I Iinstalled mine, there was one that did not seem to hold well, but it's still doing it's job.
 
bought some nismo headers. what should i use to clean the inside carbon out. Also the outer part? the headers were painted and want to take it off.

Nice!!! That was one hell of a deal. I'm not sure what to use to strip the paint off the outside - media blasting would probably be ideal - but I wouldn't worry about the inside. The soot isn't going to hurt anything. Are you going to install them yourself?

im really considering doing it myself. Only thing im worried about is snappign bolts.. worst fear ever. get a buddy to help me. might be fun. any suggestions? wd40 the crap out of it first?
 
Got fenders rolled last Monday. Its so nice not rubbing every time I hit a bump. Got an alignment and did oil change today. ready for the drive to Dallas in the morning.

Nice, did you roll all 4 of just the rear two? The sounds of rubbing are painful!
 
Just the rear two. yeah man, the sound was excruciating! But no more... Its nice and quiet now. And my alignment was sooo off, even before putting in the coil overs. But my friend referred me to a place that works on alot of Gs so the FX was no biggie for them. They even offer lifetime alignment.
 
Sucked about 2/3 can of sea foam into my plenum and thoroughly enjoyed the subsequent 007esque freeway drive home. No noticeable performance difference...

Nice, did you buy them from Faisal (Skidz), he's a great guy, we have been to a few meets together.
As far as getting the paint off, media or sand blasting might be the easiest as Tim said, but that ceramic coating is hard to get off sometimes.

It was the kind you drive in yourself, no attendant...so in reality I guess it was my fault. Still aggravating. If I had not been lazy and washed it myself like I always do it wouldn't have happened. I never would have even thought of taking it through this wash normally. It was at a Exxon and it looked brand new and actually pretty nice. I saw a new escalade as I was pumping my gas in it and it came out looking great so I figured why not. Huge mistake.
