If they were the same shape and size, then yes. Metals in general will transfer heat better than plastics, so a metal intake tube will get hotter in the engine bay than will its plastic equivalent.

Ahhh, so because the LMS Z-tube is bigger/wider than that of the Stillen's plastic z-tube, it's more effective.
I'm guessing the shape and size of the tube are more important than its material.. well depending on how big the shape and size is.

Nice find on the 963-081 clips to replace the clips holding the door panels to the door. Broke one while removing the panel, but never replaced it. No rattling and such though either...

Ian, it's been quite a while since I installed my lip, but it looks like those clips should work on the bottom clips.
My clips are still holding well.
