What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

wow, I never posted in this thread anything that I've done to my fx, but today, at around 2 am, I finally finished the hardest part of my header build, all 6 tubes completely welded and reassembled. this may not look like such a big deal but let me tell you this was a monumental task and one of the hardest things I have ever had to learn to do...took me well over a year to learn to do this & to actually buy & build all the equipment to do it... I can't say they came out as perfect as I would have liked but they are def pretty good at least.

part of me is disappointed that they didn't wind up coming out looking like they were welded by a pro with 20 years experience but I guess that was just an unrealistic hope or expectation. overall I'm happy that I got them this good and with minimal warping so they still fit back together perfectly after all these welds... plan now is to get my fx back into my shop some time in January & have her running by the spring... fingers crossed on that one :tongue (2):

Wow man you finally finished them Great Job! Im just wondering how theyre going to sound once you get everything all hooked up. Pretty much like a machine waiting to expode off the line if anybodies dares to try to take you.

2 days ago: took out headlights. Retinted reflectors as old film peeled.
Yesterday: reinstalled exhaust with rtv silicone gasket maker. Shop who aligned my tips (and ripped me off) left the exhaust loose and leaky. Incompetent!
Today: tire rotation

Love winter vacation :) this 60f weather is amazing for car work

I did..

I drive it too hard and the since is it so low and she is so front heavy it was a matter of time.

Total cost to repair at a great Homie discount was $1,600.00

I would of had to paid at least 2,500 at the stealership for sure.

Got her back and she feels like a dream.

A shot out goes to Marty for R-Rydes who was able to get me a hook up at technosquare.

Sold Infiniti Scene to an FX45 owner at the gas station while I was refilling my monster loaner van.....really nice guy, he was pleased to hear about the forum and the opportunity to learn more about his ride.

Good stuff Lance.
What we need are :iS: Business cards so we can pass them out to advertise this great site. I know if they were available, I would purchase a bunch of them.
