The whole thing is as big as a wallet...
I just went back over today and picked up an OBD-II scan tool+data logging software. Checked and cleared the codes I incurred from my half-cocked startup last night, which turned off my SES light.
I'm liking the 350z map for a base, but it still feels a little sluggish at the top. I'm pretty sure time has slowed since I ordered the wideband kit... Sent from my BlackBerry 9800

Washed and clayed all the paint in preparation for polishing and waxing tomorrow. Also cleaned up all the door seals and put some rubber protectant on them. Gonna add a couple coats of sealant, and probably top it off with a layer of wax for fun and to see how it looks.

It's software based, not a hand held unit. The cable is Unichip proprietary (realistically, probably no different than any other OBD-II -> USB cable) and the software is called "ScanXL Professional". It is light years ahead of any sort of modular scan tool. Here is the link to the software.
I just ordered that same exact scan XL professional software with a bluetooth/usb obdII interface, palmer performance has this http://www.palmerperformance.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=51 for $239 & that's not even scan xl pro which is a $49 upgrade so $289 , but I got this http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/smart-phone/obdlink-bluetooth.html and upgraded to pro for a total of $189 shipped. it's the exact same thing. palmer performance is a distributor/reseller but scantool.net is the manufacturer....
I haven't even used the laptop software yet at all, so far I'm just using the bt adapter with my android & a $5 app called torque.... def works nice, even the phone app alone does so much more than those hand held readers. if you don't get the pro, just scan xl, then for $149 & a $5 app your in business & the app doubles as a cool gauge display with tons of different readings & custom layouts. then it also is a performance meter with gps, accelerometer AND obdII data to base it's calculations on, so once it's solidly mounted & calibrated & tweeked properly it's about as accurate & repeatable as you can get for any one of the performance gtech type things....

Nice. The laptop software is pretty awesome. I played with it at Unichip for about 20min today before I bought it. The real time monitoring and data logging sold me. On my way home I was scheming on how I could secure my laptop in the passenger seat for my test runs. :tongue (2):
Do you think you could install it on your carputer? That would be da-:bomb:.

of course, I have a few different older obdII softwares on there and also other programs that work along with this that are skinable so I can have custom gauge panels & controls that look like the new gtr display never fully set it up though when it was bone stock, will def be nice for when I finish the build though...

yeah the gtr display style is pretty cool & a lot of it is not so hard to get working properly emulated with obdII & accelerometers but some things are a pita to set up & get working too, like torque distribution & stuff, that takes some hacking & building custom stuff

Ironic you should mention skinning the interface because that's pretty much the only thing that ScanXL DOESN'T do... :frown:
Had the optional radar detector installed in my prodigy one nav system. Detector mounted behind the Infiniti logo in the grill and displayed on the screen both audible and visual. Was hoping to give it a test but the installer forgot to activate it in the software which I took care of after I got home. Haven't had a chance to give it another test run yet but hopefully I won't be driving around with a false sense of security.
Installed a new intake not currently cross marketed for the 06+45 Tried three times, kids, work, misc. projects got in the way - remove the existing, get pulled away, put it back on....... Will post a separate DIY with pics. Sound is exotic and I am sure it will perform.

How long did it take you and how hard was it?
