What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Link to Berliner? It's rustoleum spray on Berliner. Checkout my plasti dip stock 20 post about 2-4 pages in. I started with plasti dip then sanded and went with bedliner

Wow... I bet that system rocks the entire block... I can't imagine sitting in the rear seat of that car.

It doesn't take up as much room as I thought.
Thanks Ed, Up or downfiring is the way to go if your trying to save space with a box, still got room for 8-10 grocery bags when needed. I want a custom fiberglass enclosure made to add a 15" T0 or T1 to the 12s when I can afford it.

Did you replace all the speakers in the car, otherwise I would think it would SERIOUSLY drown out stock speakers. One solid 10'' sub with good amp can easily drown out the stock speakers and amp. I can't imagine with your system or why you would do that all unless you did redo all the speakers and oem amps? I know some guys that have done that and their car sounds 100 times better than some nice house surround sound systems.

The Interiors are still stock, to be honest I think the bose system works very well If tuned correctly without pushing the subs to the limit. The JL sweep cleans up the bass very well and the external gain knob is badazz for quick changes of music. I'm content for NOW. I've always had a system in my cars and this one is no exception. I want to change out the information screen to a led display, relocate info above, and add an audiophile deck. Only after time and testing will I know if I need to start swapping internals. I've only had the 45 for a little more than 3 months, easy now one step at a time. I'm on mod 12+ now, that's almost one a week, I think there is something wrong with me lol.

hmmmmm ok. I figured for sure you'd be drowning them out but maybe you are running the gain really low. What RMS are they and what % gain do you run the subs when listening to music in the car? Are you running a capacitor (what farad)? Did you bolt the box to the FX?

In one of my previous rides, I used to have a setup like yours, but because it was so powerful, even with a 2 farad cap I was diming the lights, etc and I had the gain at around 30%, but it's just a big waste, hard on the electrical system and tons of space and weight that wasn't necessary. I removed half and had the same exact sub sound/feeling but half the weight, space, etc. Unless the sound system is mostly for show, that's a different story.

I agree. A well thought out system with properly matched components can sound great and rattle the teeth out of your head with very little. I've seen with my own eyes, a single 12" woofer in a bandpass box with 500 watts behind it outperform eight (yes EIGHT) 10" woofers with 2000 watts, caps, dual batteries, alternators, etc... in a decibel contest.

Kissed my FX35 good bye last week and I miss her. I did buy some stuff and it is ready for installation when I get home this weekend.

1. Shark fin antenna
2. 3000K hid kit for fog lights
3. Bumper trim protector

I've seen zero FX35 or FX50 in Tokyo. Well, I take that back, I saw one at the stealership. Sticker price for a brand new FX35 was 7,000,000 yen which is roughly $87,500!!!!! I tried to get some accessories but they are so darn expensive. I went to Super Autobac which is kind of like Pepboys but on steroids. They had everything you would want for a car. I was like a kid in a candy store. They had some awesome wheel but they were $3000-5000 for a set of wheels!!!!

Driving to work today must sunroof made a noise then wouldn't close. Jammed in the tilt position. Just got to Infiniti of willow grove. No loaners available and hoping they fix it before service closes. Oh. Its also raining outside so hopefully theygo above and beyond if it can't be fixed in time.

I had these subs running in my Camaro SS Vert in a custom downfire box I made.

I was running two amps all Infiniti kappa perfect interiors and a 2 farrad cap. I sold the custom enclosure and removed my system when I let her go. The box I purchased for the FX is belowB2eZOQCGkKGrHqFg0E7z59wNRBMip1N7yJw_3.jpg
I wanted this box because I new the cargo space was limited in the FX. Standing it up saves tons of room. I first tried running one P3 in a sealed box and It fell short for my taste. Not to mention the box was 17hx17wx14d As you can see the height isn't much bigger than the 12in cutouts, 14in tall. I also wanted to go ported as opposed to sealed for a deeper tone. RF reccomends 1.5 to 1.8cf per sub on the P3D212's in a ported box. The new enclosure is 1.4cf per sub, just barely enough, not the biggest box in Texas. :mad.:The P3's are dual voice coil, 2ohm 500wRMS 1000wPEAK each. They are ran in series to my RF 1001BD bench tested by RF at 997watts RMS. My stock headunit is set at -3bass +2treble. The JL clean sweep remote gain knob is usually set at about 75%.

The Gain on the amp is at about 30% Running at a frequency of 22-25htz. I like it low. I'm still running a RF 2 farrad cap with a yellow top Optima. The box is not bolted in (I only drill if I have to) instead I utilized the middle seat belt of the rear seats to keep it snug in place. If you looked at my first pics you will see this. I appologize for getting off topic on this thread but I felt like I was being unfairly judged. I wanted to share, not brag or belittle anyone. Same team right?:iS: I'm no audio expert, never claimed to be, but I'm not an idiot when it comes to this stuff either.

I agree. People tend to get caught up in having a box the size of Texas and thousands of watts, thinking that's what they need to get lots of bass. Then they end up using it at 10% potential all the time.

A perfect example of more money than brains losing out to a well planned system.
Let's keep it above the belt, eh Chuck? I'm smart enough to catch that.

Looks great Slamming. Just trying to get an idea where you were coming from, that's all. I'm planning on doing audio stuff to my car shortly and just wanted to see where your thoughts were, that's all.

I like how the switch looks OEM like! Where did you get it?

It comes with the Clean sweep, just have to spend the time to run the wire, remove the blank, drill a few small holes, hollow out the back of the switch to fit the remote module then re-assemble. Next time your out this way I can give you a listen if you would like. No worries man, just standing my ground.

Gonna do a little photoshoot on Thursday, so will def post the album.
Need to decide on new wheels too and beef her up a bit:)
