What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I can't resist to let you guys know one day ahead of time about my first Nissan/Infiniti meet that I will have tomorrow night. Since I got the FX in the fall and have been on this forum, I've been dieing to go on a meet and finally will tomorrow night (only 15 minutes away) with a a group of guys targeting 350Z and 370Z, but also Gs. They do meets, then are having a April install day where everyone gets together and help with installs, then also do some big meets together like a drive to KY and others, meeting lots of other Nissan and Infinitis, then all driving picking up more as a they tag along to Carolina for a huge Z day event. That's just all I know so far and am excited to hear more.

I've struggled finding a group of Nissan/Infiniti enthusiasts around in the greater detroit area, so I'm really excited about tomorrow night since it will probably be a group of 10 or so. As far as I know, I'm the only FX, which is a bummer, but I'm hoping to create some good lasting car enthusiast relationships to share knowledge with and I hope they are a cool group and welcome me even though I am the only FX and probably the only Infiniti. I mentioned to them as they probably already know, the FX35/50 shares the same platform as the 370Z, so it would only make sense if their big brother came to meet his brothers and sisters! lol. I just miss those days of having meets constantly with my Mustang Cobra when I was younger :tonguey:

^^^ nice!! make sure you take some pics..

I will for sure. I just hope they will be accepting of a FX joining the party... They know I'm coming but haven't talked with any of them directly online thus far and haven't said anything about me stopping by so hopefully it will be OK! ...

Oil Change on Saturday. Switched to Mobil 1 high mileage Synthetic blend. I was planning on rotating my tires also. But i was using my torque wrench to remove my lugs. Needless to say use the right tool for the job. The torque wrench busted and sliced up my wrist. I'll upload a photo tonight. Looks really bad. I've got it covered up so peeps don't think i'm a cutter. Side note, i'm looking for an electric impact wrench. any recommendations?

The snap on/blue point ones are really good. So are the dewalt.

I replaced my oil pan drain bolt with a magnetic one. Works pretty good. Catches fine metal debri.

Probably from the Sunday paper, I get them all the time.

My wife is one of those crazy coupon ladies....

I love Harbor Freight! I am fortunate to live close to one to go in person. The 20% coupons are in a lot of magazines too. I have about 30 of them saved up in my car. I get all four of the major car magazines and Popular Science and Mechanics and they are always in there, advertised.

Today I wired 4 gauge power through the interior and fire wall, wow what a PITA! But 1000 watts is worth it I guess, LOL

I'm totally agree with you. It is a PITA to pass wire through the fire wall on this car. It sure seal really well. I couldn't find any hole other then cut a slit into the rubber boot on the driver side firewall to sneak a wire through.

You guys have no idea. I have about four new cables going through that boot. Ended up sealing the whole thing with silicone. You don't want water running down the harness to meet the ECU.

^^ I see that. Good calls on the sealing the water out silicone. Mine was a small slit on the boot below the brake fluid reservoir & master cylinder area. I believe that area stay dry.
