What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Still no time to wash it but I did take 10 minutes pressure wash it today.....something to note on our rides where the mudflaps connect to the inner wheel well liners they catch a lot of sediment and debris, especially the fronts. The longer that material sits in there the more chance there is for moisture issues down the road.....

Good point Logan. I did some work on my BMW 325IX and found that behind all of it's stuck on flaps and ground effects, years of dirt, grime, leaves and other debris has collected, congealed and started growing cancer. Guessing the only fix is to pop off the flaps and rinse it out.....or go at it with high pressure like you did!

Great.

Let us know what gain you've gotten.

as any other enthusiast here im very attached to my FX... so i can tell the difference as soon as i drive it.. i disconnected the battery/pressed a few time on the brake during install so by the time i was done installing it the computer didnt bug out.

i installed the cats yesterday.

i drove it home and the noise in the cabin is loud.. itll take a bit to get used to.. but since i have the radio on most of the time it'll help with the noise.

gain.. it feels slower from standing still to pick up speed.. but once its going it feels faster on the high end.. ill let you guys know more as soon as i drive it a few more time..

i being driving my GF's honda to go to work since it have better MPG than the FX plus i dont want to put so many milage on the baby.. lol

my girl Drove it this morning to go to school and she texted me. "what did you do to the FX cause is loud and all it wants is take off everytime i press on the gas"

i cracked up and told her what i did.. and she said she doesnt like it cause its too loud..:tongue (2):

That reminds me of my one of my wife's comments about my Flowmaster muffler. Shortly after the install, she started mentioning the fact that the FX was uncomfortably loud, and wondered what the "problem" was. I told her about the muffler and that if it was too much for her I could get some sound insulation to make it more bearable. She liked the idea, so I set to work with the insulation installation. It worked really well and she seemed happy again. Happy that is until one day, in a part of the city where tall buildings line both sides of the street (massive echo and reverberation), we were cruising around with the windows down and I took off fairly aggressively from a light. At around 4K rpms she looked over, wide-eyed, and said "I didn't realize the sound insulation was only for us!" I cracked up. She did not. :ninja::laugh:

Lol same here the flowmater when i first got em i was running no tips and it sound very beastly but it has tonned down a bit and idle you can barely tell until i take off. Still working on insulating the inner cabin, one more door to go then the rest.

I have my head unit out n m waiting for the ups guy to come give me my pa15 nis. Getting so impatient. Also its so damn cold outside.

^ This is a bit more applicable to the rant thread but cold sucks for mod work......just not as happy to work on the ride outside when its chilly.

do one thing, break another. Its a love hate relationship, currently more on the hate side though >[
