What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

just finished sanding the grille. Actually like how it looks sanded, kind of like that stainless steel home appliances finish. Paint tomorrow!

yessir. The wrap was great quality and came off easily. I, however, am no professional so my wrapjob wasnt 100% perfect (some parts were too stretched so that when the heat came it started lifting). Plus my first wrap job has some obvious flaws such as rips and bubbles and i decided to go for the gloss black (krylon fusion) instead of the matte wrap so i took it off

to anyone thinking about the wrap - its great and i had a lot of fun doing it. If i redid it, maybe the job would have been better, but did not have the patience too. That and because i never sanded/painted something before i thought maybe theres a first time for everything :tup:

You are awesome for getting out there and trying. It's the only way to get experience. Anything I have done on my own car I know better than anybody - it makes the car more mine, more personalized, I think.

Your FX is sweet.

I was actually surprised it lasted as long as it did. I kept reading here and there how some of us were changing batteries only after 3 yrs or so. And yes, I got my moneys worth :laugh: Hopefully new battery will be as nice to me as my old battery :tup:
 
Took my ride in to get the camber slots widened as the rear camber is maxxed and the tire are pulled in pretty hard.....The very astute tech said "hey, you sure you want to make this permanent?" I said "ehhh why not" he went online and found that a combination of the G37 and G35 camber bolts/washers installed on our rides will provide much more adjustment without modifying. DIY pics to follow after the install.

Adjusted my exhaust so now it will NOT tap out on the sway bar or the lower rear GT-Spec (S**T was slowly pushing me over the edge). AND while doing the alignment he found that the tires were at 38 Lb.s PSI. Since the lower sidewall tires were installed I have been thinking how much harder the ride has been. Got to say after lowering the pressure - the ride is GREAT again.
 
Met up with a buddy of mine to give him the money for some Rays lug nuts, since he owns an online shop.

Probably won't slam it just because something bad would happen at some point. My alley and the road to work both look like they have been around for 100 years and have had large trucks drive them every day. Actually that might be true... But yeah, probably will just tuck the wheels for everyday driving/drive to college. If I end up doing an AutoX, then I'll lower it down more at the track.

My thoughts exactly, you can do it but when it get that low your risk factor for damage goes way up, I still like driving my ride and not worrying about EVERY bump in the road.....Looking forward to seeing the end product Stu!
 
whoa, I didn't know you were getting coilovers Stu. Congrats!

Anyways, I installed some new 5000k headlights since one of my 6000k went out.

I was going to, but since I will need a fender roll, I figured I will get that guy to do the install too and get it all done at once, just in case. Don't need to lower and have any rubbing issues. Plus the road to work is pretty treacherous and I'd like to minimalize my trips down it with coilovers. Of course I can always throw the stock wheels on afterward to see what it looks like and to drop it all the way just for fun.
