What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

as a result of being lazy and not taking the right precautions, the fx fell off the floor jack today. No injuries, but close call and lesson learned :eek.:

I am truly glad you are ok.... My number one rule is always use jackstands, I learned my lesson before when my car fell on me.

glad to hear you are okay, Pat. Let's all remember to be careful out there.

damn pat,... when I was a kid cars had bumper jacks, they fit into a slot in the chrome metal bumper & jacked the whole car up from there... well one day I tried to change rear leaf springs on an old rotted out ford falcon I had, had the car up in the air hanging for hours on just the bumper jack with me under the car tugging & beating away at hopelessly rusted spring shackles. I finally gave up as it got dark out & as I sit there back out from under the car thinking about putting the wheel back on, the car just fell to the ground... rotted bumper bracket couldn't hold the car anymore & she just ripped apart... you learn from your mistakes, hopefully you don't die from them though... be safe man.

I leave my car on the floor jacks and put floor stands for back up. That always scared the crap out of me when I was under a wheel or something.

are you guys having problems with bugs man? my black grille gets splattered with bugs all the time and in less than 2 days it looks like i never cleaned it, i am tired of cleaning it...Am I being targeted or what?

I do the opposite, haha. Usually put it on two jack stands and then leave the jack with a little bit of tension. If anything, it makes it quicker to jack it back up when I'm done.

Fixed.
I drop mine on the stands and then genuinely try to rock the car back and forth. If it moves even a little, I repeat the process. When it's solid as a rock, I crawl under. Ramps are a also a good investment for things that don't require wheel removal.

just receive my new rims today. but.......................... they were hella scratched, even a crack on the surface of one of the spokes! definitely not in the condition i pay for. UPS man handles the boxes and it wasn't really packed well in the first place. oh boy looks like this is going to be a long ordeal, won't have them rims any time soon.:frown::frown::frown:

As least the seller is still responding to my email

Took the car to the detailer, then went to the mall for some window shopping. Yes I know about the tails:tongue (2): I'm waiting on my clear ones to come in:smug: Sorry for the photo quality. (taken with my cell)
