Meguiar's G110v2

I do have some swirls left, I tried a few times on the hood and the swirls would not completely go away, do you have any recommendations on a pad/compound combo?

I wouldn't want you to buy some products and not workout for you because these compounds are not too cheap (like $30~$50 per bottle). But if you want to try, I would go with a more aggressive pad (I believe they are the LC yellow pad) and use 3m Perfect it Extra cut rubbing compound or Menzerna SIP (super intensive polish). I use both to remove wet sanding marks or heavy correction. I usually use my rotary with these, but I think I used a PC a few times as well. Anyway, remember that these compounds/polishes will leave micro-swirls of their own, so remember to follow these with a lighter polish (like m205 on white). If this combo doesn't work, you'd need to use the rotary or possibly even wet sand which I wouldn't recommend. The clearcoat on our fx is pretty thin and "soft" compared to other cars (like vette or audi, which is super hard). I have these lying around so you're welcome to come try it if you want before buying them.

I think a good trick to using PC or Meguiar DA buffers is to mark a black 'line' on the backing plate. This way when you go up to speeds 5 or 6, you can make sure the line is rotating correctly, keeping consistent pressure on the machine. Too much pressure, the line doesn't move and machine just jiggles around, then ease up and let it spin.

Thanks for all the tips, have you ever tried the cobra cross groove pads?

Haven't tried those yet, but I think the design for pads are pretty similar. Higher cut pads are more stiff and absorb less. There is one product I love and it's the Chemical Guys Scratch/Swirl remover. It's like a safe compound and finishing polish in 1 so saves good time. Use that with the orange pad, good to go!

I can vouch for the g110v2. Got it from used another member here for a great deal and its still going strong!

I have one, its more powerful compared with PC but less powerful compared with griot. Overall I still prefer the PC.
