Wow, good information because 2 of my seat belts (drivers and the back seat on passenger side hardly retract at all anymore. And this is on a 2008...

Will be visiting my dealer soon...

I confirmed with Cheryl at Metro Infiniti, it is a 10 year warranty on the belts. I have an 04, time to get it done again. This will be my second set. I thought I was out of warranty on these...GREAT!!!!!

I think that seatbelts have a lifetime warranty from the dealer. Go to them and see if they need replacing. Sometimes just a cleaning is needed.

Thanks for the tip. You saved me a few hundred dollars, because I was going to buy new seat belt retractors due to slow retracting seat belts. However, I read your post yesterday and then called the Infiniti dearership. I was informed that the seat belts have a lifetime warranty and they are replacing the seat belts today. They provided me with a free G37 loaner today while they work on my seat belts. The G37 is quick, but I feel very cramped inside due to the smaller interior. I want my FX back.:disapointed: Thanks again man.

I don't think it's necessary if you're heading to the dealer. Every time I've asked for this service, it's been honored.

my 04 sticks too, in central ohio, who is better, dayton or columbus?

Dayton! That's where I'm from :)

The guys at Infiniti of Dayton have always been great to me and even gave me a couple little screws or clips I needed when I came in free.

Unfortunately I think my 09 FX50 started having problems with retracting the seat belt on the driver's side. I'll have to go to the dealership and find out...:(

Is it the automatic tensioning seat belts? If so hopefully they fix those for free too, because I can see little intricate stuff like that becoming costly to repair...

Wow, this is just one thing I wish I'd had the dealer fix before the 10 year mark.... A pain in the butt for several reasons: this part is not cheap must be bought in the right color and online most dealers won't sell it since it hazardous. I found an online refurbisher (less than $100) but I have no second vehicle while the seat belt is in the "shop". Speaking of hazardous this thing is primitive in design - it has an explosive charge that, in an accident, forces steel balls into a mechanism to sieze-up the belt. Any accident (or accidental discharge) ruins the thing. As a silver lining, there is no more shipping restriction after discharge. Anyone know of a better place to buy (not my local dealer.)

I've heard both 10 years and lifetime warranty. You should bring it in to the dealer and see if they'll honor it. Doesn't hurt to try. =)

I had all belts replaced at 10yr mark under warranty. 2nd time they have been replaced. They told me 10yrs and in the manual as 10 yrs
