Well I am going to go check out a 2006 FX35 this Saturday. The Infiniti just got it back as a lease return. It's Diamond Graphite with matching interior. From the photos it looks clean as hell inside and out. I won't be able to drive it myself with my injuries but will at least be able to ride in it as my wife drives. I am looking forward to my first FX!

That's cool, make sure the woman of your dreams does the prerequisite burnouts (and other guy type stuff) since you won't be behind the wheel.....

We got like 14" of snow over the last couple days so I'll be sure we have some fun.

Okay, just found the same exact car but a 2008 version, same miles 45k and the same price. The only difference is the 2006 has Nav and the 2008 does not. From what I hear the factory Nav is not that great anyway. Are there many if any differences between a 2006 and 2008?

2006-2008 navi are the same and the only difference would be if they have an updated disc. The 2006-2008 navi's are better then the 2003-1005 models.

Is there any difference in the vehicle itself in regards to engine, drivetrain, features etc?

Thanks for the help everyone

The 35's are identical from 2003 through 2008. The 45's had a very slight tweak in it's design after 2006. Power output should be the same for all the engines; although they did change the way they HP was calculated so you'll see small variations in the numbers.

Okay, so I will check them out and just probably go with whichever is cleaner. From the photos the 2006 looks freakin immaculate, like it's right off the lot. The 2008 looks a bit dirty on the interior but as long as the leather is not scratched up it might just need a good detail.

Id go wit the 2006! The 2008 your talking about has a boat-load of miles considering its age and was probobly run pretty well maybe even hard. The 2006 may be older but in the long run it might be a better car plus you get nav

But that might depend on how long you're gonna keep it. '08 is still worth more

I usually run my cars until they die, or I crash it :ehh: My wife on the other hand...
She seems to LOVE her XC90 so hopefully she'll keep that for awhile.

Id go with the 06' if you plan to keep it for awhile! My mom has a XC90 V8 AWD and she loves it! We have a big German Shepherd so we needed an suv, and its worked out great for us so far

what's up with people and their Volvos? nobody wants to give up on that. My landlord talks about 'till death do us part' kinda thing with her XC90.:wub:

your bumper-to-bumper warranty on the o6 will probably be out soon, depending on when it was put into service, whereas you have 5k miles left on the 08 . if you drive alot, that may not be a big deal. Since the 06 has nav, it probably also has ICC and LDW.

my old boss's wife has an S80. He can't wait to get rid of it, but she loves it, even though they have had nothing but problems since day one. He has told me some stories, but I think that is the first car that I have ever heard of the turn indicator lever breaking.

The dealership with the 2006 has a great Presidents Day Sale with awesome financing, no payments until May and a 7 year/100k bumper to bumper warranty for $1000. The 2006 look so ridiculously clean, the leather seat don't even look like have any creases on them. The 2008 does not look anywhere as clean from the photos anyway.

We've had the XC90 for 2 years now and we love it. It's a very comfortable smooth ride for road trips and the thing is a beast in the Minnesota snow.

I'd go for the 06. model year from the differences your discribing. like age, 06 or 08 is just a number. the 06 sounds much more perfect & healthy, so in a sense it's "younger" in it's overall lifespan that the 08, regardless of the year it was born. what would you rather have, a car that was taken new & beat hard & abused & then handed to you a year later, or a car that was used much less & cared for to protect her from wear, but held & protected for 2 years longer & then handed to you? if you look at from new to junk in percentage from 0-100%, the 06 I'm sure has less percentage wear & is that much further from the 100% junk point than the same 08 your looking at. of course this is just my opinion & point of view, so take it for what it's worth.

very true, I went with an 05 model after looking at the condition of an 06 FX35 black obsidian. I am glad I did that, I have had no problems with my car. And I always do the required maintenance via instructions from this forum.

:rofl::laugh::tdown:

Well the 2008 was a friggin joke, it was in horrible shape! Leather interior was messed up, the outside had so many dings and scratches it was unbelievable. The rear passenger tire was flat, the rim was scratched horribly with a missing center cap and the mudflap was hanging off. I was out of there in no time.

The 2006 on the other hand was damn near flawless. I would have guessed it was 6 months old from the condition. I was so jealous sitting in the passenger seat enjoying the ride while my friend drove it. We put it through the paces and could not find anything mechanically wrong or even close to it. Now it's just time to wheel and deal, I sure hope to get this thing.

Thanks for all the advise everyone, all your wisdom and knowledge is much appreciated.

Well I got the 06 and will pick it up on Friday. It is unbelievably clean and pretty much loaded. I think the first mod will be to get the headlights and tail lights tinted. I called an auto body shop to ask about it and he said legally they cannot do it, but he gave me their painters phone number and he has a home shop where he does side jobs.
