I know man. It's just a giant iPod touch with less storage for more $$$.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and it has the same processing power as the latest Google PHONE. Ooooooohhhhh. Aaaaaahhhhhhh.
 
you could get a 64g one if storage is your main concern... but i agree is very expensive if you want one with 3g and wifi capabilities.
 
but then when you adding XL gps with touch screen to your non navi fx it still goes close to $300. with this you have internet, video, gps, music and all the rest. looks like easy way of doing it. whole argument of PC vs. MAC aside.

No PC-Mac argument here. I have an iPod classic and touch that I love, and my wife has an iPhone that she loves. Im just saying the iPad is basically a giant/expensive iPod touch, which it is.
 
a lot of talk on this ipad on mp3car, seems apple feels the need to fill a niche that don't exist :tongue: the shortcommings of this thing doesn't begin to make up for the only 2 good things about it, the capacitive touchscreen with dual touch & the awesome screen itself, which is sunlight viewable. short of that it's nothing more than a huge ipod touch. very limited storage, memory & a very slow processor. the only apps you can put on it are from itunes store, it doesn't use a conventional operating system & it is kind of a joke compared to a pc. the thing with apple is that they have so many fanboys that they can sell just about anything that is shiny & white with a bitten apple on it just because... if they took an old imac & relabled it an Ibrick & sold it as new & retro with a shiny white shell they'd still have people lined up fighting over them :smile:

if just the touchscreen & display alone could be utilized from this thinghooked up to a real pc then it would be cool, but as a carpc you can do soooo much better with so much more versatility than this thing will allow. it's probably cool as a secondary web browser at home though, there claiming 10 hour battery life in use which is nice too

Seriously though:
No removable storage
No removable battery
No connections other than the proprietary iPod port
No multitasking
Yawn worthy processor
No HD capability
One of the worst major networks in the country (AT&T)
(I could go on but you get my point)

All that and this is what Apple says about it:

"iPad. Our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary product at an unbelievable price."

Anyone who believes this thing is magical or revolutionary deserves to pay their unbelievable price.

I agree that it needs a lot to become replacement for the laptop and i would never buy it just to pull it out in the local Starbucks just for show.

I agree that it is over hyped and overpriced gadget but if you take to consideration storage and processing power that you need while driving I think it dose the job.

I think it is more about thinking outside the box and finding use for otherwise useless gadget.
 
this thing reminds me of the HUGE iphone that they use for display in the windows of apple stores :tongue: haha, I told my kid I was going to get him that huge one so he won't loose it :smile: I should bring one of these home just so I can give it to my kid & tell him here, I got you the latest iphone :biggrin: might be worth the price just to see the expression on his face. only problem with that is he's so tech savvy he probably knew about this thing even before I did...

I was being sarcastic. Read this thread from the beginning. As for "everyone else"; If you interpret the few reviews that exist as positive, I don't know what to tell you except that I disagree. :confused:
 
tchuck, I think your sarcastic replies should have been in read so some would not misunderstand, lol. But I agree this ipad is a waste of money.
