why...?
So you can pretend you have forced induction? lol
Maybe he's getting one?
his other thread talks about wanting a i think tranny and oil temperature gauge so most likely not.....

Leave the guy alone, seriously! This is an information thread and you have not contributed anything useful.
If it's a pillar gauge cluster, that's usually three gauges. For FI, transmission temp is usually one of the three.
Could we run G35 A pillar gauge pods? Or maybe try a universal setup and modify it to fit? I used to run 4 gauges on my old car (yes, it was boosted and had nitrous). They didn't make a pod to hold that many, so I took 2 universal 2 gauge pods and molded them into the factory A pillar.
But I do have to ask, why you would want to run a gauge pod mount? If you're not boosted, it's very unneccessary. It's distracting at night; the lights draw your attention. It also blocks your view somewhat at all times. Plus it draws a lot of attention to your car (people will either want to race you or break into your car). Finally, and this is just my personal opinion, if you're not boosted and don't have significant engine mods, it's very poser-ish. There are so many negatives that if you don't absolutely have to have gauges, then you're just doing it for the look. I always found it amusing when I'd see cars with gauges on the pillar and I'd get a closer look. More often than not, it was a voltage gauge, and a narrowband A/F gauge. It's almost as bad as having a 6" tach on an automatic Civic.
Thanks for your informative replies.
I figure that would be the easiest mount with the best visibility.
Other mounting sites would be less visible and probably require drilling into the dash- thus the A mount. But there may be some issues as Shadow suggests.
Any other mounting sites suggestions are welcome. If you have other setups you've done plz forward.
Yes, it's for oil temp and trans temp for now. Also may add another gauge.
Thanks Jbaker for your efforts on the search. I was not able to find FX specific A pillar mounts in my search. That's why I inquired here, I did not note any mounts except a couple of customized ones. I'd rather not try to customized A mounts for other cars and force fit it.
Thanks for your help, and I'm glad I could entertain you.
Everyone has a right to mod THEIR car as they please. You are not the one that will drive it so if you do not have anything constructive or helpful to say please refrain from unnecessary comments!
manta888, I have also seen a past member with a analog clock on the a-pillar mount. ebay has many plastic universal 2,3 pod mounts.
Thanks for the helpful replies.
I thought a functional reading of the engine would be helpful. (This is evident with the new Z oil temp overheating issues.) The more advanced cars have more gauges for engine management.
The trans/oil temp gauges are NOT functional in a routine setting? If the yield of the gauge is very minimal, then I think I would pass on them.
What are the negatives from the gauges (leakage?) (besides the distraction and others mentioned?) (Thanks Shadow for your knowledge)
Now I'm wondering our water temnp gauges is needed? If those idiot lights would be OK.
That's the reason of my inquiry regarding the additional gauge measurements. (besides the comic relief for some)
