Motorcycle Riders

Of I couldn't resist a motorcycle post... My bike on display at COTA , and hitting the track at thunder hill.

I'd love a little sportbike for commuting to save on gas but I'm almost certain I'd get hit within the first few months.

Many people did a cost analysis on owning a street bike as a gas saving tool only and it was cheaper not to from a pure money stand point. Factoring proper maintenance and etc.

But it sure is fun [emoji7]. So I don't care.

Yeah, it seems to me that even if I'm tripling my mileage, it would take time to recoup the initial costs. It's one of those good in your head, bad on paper ideas. I would like one from a fun perspective as well, but the commuting idea helps justify it more. I'm really comfortable on two wheels from biking, but the clutch and shifting might take a little getting used to.

That's why many people buy as an impulse and sell in 3 weeks.

I know the numbers never add up but its like modding cars. Its a hobby. We know putting $2k into out cars isn't going to increase value.

Just the fact of motorcycle tires wear normally at 7.5k miles and run $300 per set is the start of things. And insurance runs $250-1000. Kills everything.

Buts its one hell of a hobby and I would do it again.

My current is a CBR250R (ABS) that I ride for road trips, it gets about 70mpg maxes out at 95mph tho...but I rode over 800 miles last week to go see a friend and it only cost me $50 in gas.

Great track photos!

Also love that the 250 is being appreciated. I would love to pick one up for the fun of it. :good:

I just scrolled through this thread and am surprised I hadn't shown my Ducati here. I've had this 5 years or so.
It's a 748 with a big bore kit to 853.
Power commander chip
Arrow carbon fiber exhaust
Carbon fiber lower fairings
tucked plate and hidden signals.
