If you use dishwashing Soap???

Dont use it for a routine wash, it'll strip any wax off your finish.
& No, it will not remove any clear coat. Most use dishwash soap as a prep to clear any wax before doing a detail with some new wax or synthetic protectant.

It may hurt the clear a tiny bit I think, since people say not to do it everytime. However, you shouldn't worry about damaging it.

yeah, i hear the zaino people use dawn before they zaino their cars, but eh, not for me. I'll just stick to the clay.

i've always used dawn before i've clayed or rewaxed. never had an issue. that certainly doesn't make it the right way to do things, but, it's the way i do it lol. it's like a fresh canvas!

I had my friend use it before I clayed his car for probably the first time ever. Also had him apply a QD since we didn't have time for a wax.

Can you remove the clear coat if you are using detergent dishwashing soap?

No. Dishwashing liquid works on plastic, glass, metal and rubberIt is a all in one cleaner for cars and trucks
Clear coat and paint is basicly plastic/acrylic.

Those who say it is harmful may have an agenda of their own to promote certain brand products.

I dont use a dishwashing soap i use a product made by GRIOTS GARAGE its called paint prep it pulls off all the old wax without the chance of hurting the clear coat at all.

I have a handful of their products. Unfotunately, the store that sold them shut down, and I think I need a new clay bar.

Ya they make the best products i recently found a performance shop near me that carries Griots but before that i had to order everything. I think catalogs are free to request from the site if your interested.

An abrasive is a material, often a mineral, that is used to shape or finish a workpiece through rubbing which leads to part of the workpiece being worn away. While finishing a material often means polishing it to gain a smooth, reflective surface it can also involve roughening as in satin, matte or beaded finishes.

Abrasives are extremely commonplace and are used very extensively in a wide variety of industrial, domestic, and technological applications. This gives rise to a large variation in the physical and chemical composition of abrasives as well as the shape of the abrasive. Common uses for abrasives include grinding, polishing, buffing, honing, cutting, drilling, sharpening and sanding.

Files act by abrasion but are not classed as abrasives as they are a shaped bar of metal. However, diamond files are a form of coated abrasive (as they are metal rods coated with diamond powder).

Abrasives give rise to a form of wound called an abrasion or even an excoriation. Abrasions may arise following strong contract with surfaces made with things such as concrete, stone, wood, carpet and roads, though these surfaces are not intended for use as abrasives.

Abrasive devices/fine milled abrasives/compounds/polishes are classified as ''Mechanical''.

Dawn is NOT an abrasive, Dawn is a surfactant. Surfactants, also known as tensides, are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids.

The term surfactant is a blend of "surface acting agent". Surfactants are usually organic compounds that are amphiphilic, meaning they contain both hydrophobic groups (their "tails") and hydrophilic groups (their "heads"). Therefore, they are soluble in both organic solvents and water. The term surfactant was coined by Antara Products in 1950.

Surfactants reduce the surface tension of water by adsorbing at the liquid-gas interface. They also reduce the interfacial tension between oil and water by adsorbing at the liquid-liquid interface.

The car care industry is full of chemicals for cleaning. Detailing chemicals are mixtures of different ingredients formulated to do a particular job. The most common chemical functions include surfactants, solvents, wetting agents, saponifiers and chelators.

Every cleaner needs a solvent to dissolve soil. The most common solvent is one you might not even think of... water. Some solvents, such as mineral spirits, work great on grease and oil.

Surfectants and solvents are classified as ''Chemical Cleaners'' (Not Mechanical)

Thank you.
Finally intelligent life.
I agree with you 100%

Did you come on here just to be a dick? First you are accusing people of trying to push certain products, which no one in here is doing. And now are saying we are all stupid?

Look, no one was directing a comment at you, If you think you're stupid that's your opinion. No one is going to argue with you.
I was unaware that it would cause anyone distress by complimenting another person's intelligence.
Intelligent people don't stoop to name calling.
They know that profanity is the effort of a feeble mind trying desperately to express itself".

The phrase "finally intelligent life" suggests that up until then, there was none. Now if something is not intelligent, then it is unintelligent. Therefore, you were indirectly calling everyone else unintelligent. Am I right?
