now gots a '73 tii, I guess the next one will be the turbo . . or a 3.0 CSI, always wanted one of those
 
im 17 n i drive a 2004 fx. yea dude get him one of those cars . its a good start to life . doesnt need to spend money on a nice ride . helps alot with the ladys at school also .:wink: lol

dave, was yours white? did you ever spin out on the freeway? I only ask, because I once raced one on the 10 and I saw it spin out on the freeway (saw on my rear view). ( i had a rx2)

nope :laugh: charcoal black metallic w/ gold flake over inka Orange :laugh:. It was cherry until it got t-boned by a stoned 16 year old :mad::frown::laugh: cruising a B2000.
I spun it many a time, but never on the freeway :err: Tough lil' car

I have to see if I can find a pic or 2 to scan.
 
That's way to nice of a car for a 16 year old! Trust me I know.. I grew up in Westlake Village and everybody I knew got sick cars like that for their 16th birthday from their parents, I had to buy my first car off my parents which was a 1991 Eclipse Turbo.. Trust me when I say this, he will respect the car more if he get something a little bit more appropriate given his age. He'll probably be pissed at first like I was, but later he'll look back and have mad respect!

I see those same kids now and they are such friggin idiots because their parents spoiled the crap out of them.. They have no value in anything.. Its bugs the crap out of me being around them, their parents still pay for their rides.. What is the kid gonna want after driving a 5 series around, a friggin S series?

Don't get me wrong, get him something cool but smart at the same time.. Get him a older G35 or something, something that has some low miles but he can have fun with ..

I am 27 now and I have always respected my cars and my things a crude load more because of the way my parents handled my first car.. My Dad could have afforded to buy me literally anything back then, and I got the 6 year old Eclipse with 75,000 miles on it for $350 a month , and it was green...lol

Now I have an 09 FX35, an 06 G35 coupe, and an 04 Z06 corvette.. I rock the FX for some luxury, the coupe because I love her, and the Z06 for drifting.. It's the best of all worlds!

On another note Kudo's to you Pop's for being cool enough to be on a forum like this!

Not a good video at all , not to mention its wicked old but here's a four year old video of me messing around in the vette in some parking lots.. More donuts then drifting per say, but I'm working on some new footage once I get it back. My vette was stolen about a month ago and just turned up in Colorado earlier this week. Once I get it back its on like Donkey Kong!

saw this thread this morning and i was going to post this link.

I don't think i'm in the best position to say things like this....

My parent's brought me my first car when i was 16 too. it was a brand new (at the time) rav4. crappy car imo but it was better than what most ppl have at my age in my school.

i end up speeding down a busy road with 2 passengers and totaled the car. I was the only 1 in the car with seatbelts.....

luckily nobody was seriously hurt.

on the other hand, if i had my wish back than and my parents got me a m3 or something. I would of been dead already

it really isn't abt who pays for the car. I know 16 yrs old drug dealer that brought their fast whip with their own money and i also know 16 yr old with cars powered by mommy and daddy.

80% of them drive recklessly and 100% of them overestimate their abilities.


take it from me, don't get your son a fast whip for a first car if you value his life. at 16 its in his blood to test limits and show off. after he's got a few yr of driving experience, feel free to treat him to any nice car you want, only than will he really appreciate the car and hopefully appreciate your gesture as he is a very lucky kid
 
wow that m5 story is crazy . im 17 but dont drive fast at all after i crashed my honda s2000 a while back ago . i really got out of the speed and racing after the accident . thats y i got the fx now just for looks n luxury n space for more ladies to fit .lol :wink:
