Transmission Problems?

I don't feel like my transmission is running perfectly healthy or maybe it's just me. When i'm in a parking lot and i tap the gas, the RPM seems to hang or hesitate around 1250 to 2000 rpm. And sometimes it hesistates to accelerate to the next gear no matter what speed i'm traveling. Any suggestions or symptoms? And does revving ruin your transmission?

tranny shouldnt hang when in gear. Can feel lazy between shifts though. Depends how you're gassing it betweeen those shifts. If you let off slightly before you go up, it will lag a bit. If you're on the gas, it should feel like it bumps into the next gear.

I guess i release it before it shifts up so it lags, but is that normal?
 
How can you ruin your tranny if you're not in gear. Use some sense, man!
 
dont rev in N and shift to D when reving high. that can damage tranny. if you want to launch, then hold down brake pedal and step on gas (rev will not go over a certain rpm), then release brake pedal for a faster launch.
 
affirmative . . not meaning to be cruel :wink:

FYI, If you rev while in gear, with the brake down . . like for better launch . . that'll likely shorten the tranny's life
 
Oh ok, i've never done that, well probably just once next to a Mustang GT.
 
Try this

Have you ever had your throttle body cleaned. I never did it myself, but I hear its easy. I have a Murano it was just done at the dealer and boy what a difference in throttle response.:cool:
 
Holding on brake and than stepping to the gas will also damage your cars part dont you knoww?? we are not driving smg M3's=)) we are driving just fast and sportive SUV's so we should think twice
 
I power brake every now and then. I don't think it's too bad unless you do it at every stop. once in a while i don't think will hurt it
 
sometimes my transmission hesitate to shift from 2 to 3 gear... even while im steping on the gas. it shift smoothly 1.2 but as soon as i hit 3 it lag and then launch into 4.. it never did that before,, it just weird..

have anybody had this problem before?
 
i have that problem. a slight lag in the shift between 2nd and 3rd gear in automatic mode. when in manual mode if the car is not warmed up, 2nd to 3rd gear can clunk pretty bad. i took it to an infiniti dealer and they said it was normal. my transmission fluid was slightly brown and they recommended a transmission fluid flush for $199. didn't do it yet. transmission is still under warranty.
