Yes oem shocks and struts from a 05+ non sport model was the stuff we installed. Owner was happy with the ride. Let me know if I can help.
Thanks guys for all these inputs.
I own my 03 FX since 2003! I love everything except the stiff bounces. When I test drove the car back then, I didn't go thru those roads with cracks/holes nor railtracks. It was pretty much a smooth ride and I didn't expect the sport suspensions will make this much of difference on this car. Until the first maintenance service which they loaned me a non-sport FX and I started to regret to get the sport package.
After 5 yrs with 125,000+ miles, I pretty much drove thru all the potholes in LA. I also tried every year's FX (including the new 2009). The best one is 2009 and that really makes me want to do something with my suspensions now.
My parents own Lexus RX. Try to drive thru those roadbumps in parking lots really feels the differences. Sometimes the bounces/sounds are so loud on my FX I feel like my tires/rims were damaged.
I have a '05 and it's was supposed to have the "sport" suspension. Except we got a letter in the mail stating that they forgot to put it on.
I was wondering what would be the replacement part for the sports struts. Does anyone else make it or is it a strictly a Dealer part?
Jeff, does the KYB make sports version?
Jeff, does the KYB make sports version?
I recall that the part numbers for the sport & non-sport were the same on our '05s.
Infiniti sent out a check for $500- for the mis-representation. This was for original owners only. They did have an option to swap in the sport suspension in lieu of the check, but with what parts is the question? I took the money
Took the cash also cause I felt the suspension was stiff enough already. I will probably need need struts and shocks soon also as I am over 70k right now.
ApolloIsn't there a retrofit from another brand? I read somewhere (it may have been rookie who said it,) that there is a company in Hong Kong that makes aftermarket Coilover or sports suspension for FX. I remember someone asked the same question and the response was "unless you know someone in HK!!!"

I was told by KYB that I bought the first set of their struts/shocks, which i installed with H & R springs on my 03 that had a sport suspension - I bought back in June... they ahve been great! The whole set-up cost me less than $600 (for the struts and springs) which I installed myset - not that fun of a project to do without shop equipment. Anyway if you ever get out to Brentwood and want to check out the ride quality before spending $600 plus installation let me know...
