Sub woofer with stock radio

Sorry guys!! i have a 2005 fx35 and i wanted to connect some sub woofer with a 2 channel amp on the stock radio... but a friend of mine said that for systems with bose is a totally different thing than regular radios... :confused:is that true ? if yes what would i need to connect them ?

Hey Daniel, Keemo is on point with the link for you. in order to hook up an after market amp the PACII is exactly what you'll need to do the job. if done correctly you'll never have any issues. So take photo's and let us know how things come out.

Just my 2 cents.

Usually, signal that comes out of any amp is powered. I read the instructions on the .org and unless you have a "high input" amp it's not going to work and you might fry your amp. The singnal that goes into a normal RCA end of AMPS needs to have very little juice (less than 1 volt). It's the Amplifires job to juice it up.

My suggestion would be to buy an AMP tha has both Line-In and Speaker Level Inputs, Plug the White and the Black Cable into the "high input" side of the amp and connect the Speaker Side of the amp to your Subs. An alternate would be to get a "high input to RCA converter". They should be about $10-$15 and they reverse the effect of the amp and you can plug the RCA to any amp.

PS. Bazooka and other manufacturers make Subwoofers that come with amps and take high input signal. Check these out.

Thank You guys for the heads up!! I'll be working on that hopefully by next month so i'll been doing all of the research by then :wink:
and im also thinking about adding a single din somewhere which im not sure yet where to put it (i kinda don't know where could i possibly put it besides on the console middle speaker) but i'll let you guys know how that goes alsoo !!! I'll be adding some pics as soon as the work starts !! :smile:

well the people on the .org is saying that you woundn't need a pacII or am i just lost??
oh yea another thing... is the ground wire the one that runs from the bartery to give the power to the amp ?

Maybe, bot the true origin of the phrase is the dark skin we have here at IS.
At one point Doc refused to leave the optional Lighter skin. It was part of the persuasion, & Doc-Skywalker finally gave in to his evil inclination :cool:

The "Dark Side" was diffinately in referance to the Black background.

I know I have always used the phrase Dark side when referring to the blackout grills and trying to get folks to go all the way, instead of leaving the emblem chrome. so it might have been me....

Unfortunately this AMP does not. But no worries. Go to a local sterio shop (Not al & Ed) and ask for a Speaker to Line-in converter. It should be about $10 to $15. The continue with the install.

Remember that for sub you need the LP/BR mode. If you decide to use bridge mode. you need to make sure to wire your subs accordingly. If you don't have the manual for the AMP, here is a link to the Manual.
