Nice vid and sound, thanks for the share.

Nice sound turbo...!!

So you kept the exhaust system as it was. Last time i was at your place you told me your were doubting cause of the loudness on those prefered quite sundays with the family :glasses:

Yeah, still think it's kinda loud, I'd accept the volume level if it was fast, but a bit too much noise for the power it's making.even little econoboxes can get a jump on me from a light just because they can floor it out of the hole without drawing attention where I gotta be conservative just to not draw all kinds of attention, I hate a car that makes all kinds of loud while not going anywhere in a hurry :)

Yeah i know EXACTLY what you mean now when having the HKS cat back on. I love the sound but it seams i've lost some low end torque and silent/fast driving isn't a possibility anymore.
But then again.....when driving hard man o man what a sound

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents out there. I have the Stillen, and I love it. Yes, it's a good bit more in price (and I even waited for a sale). But I DO plan on going FI, so I wanted the capacity. I have NOT noticed ANY loss, at any RPM range. But that also might be because I added the 5/16" plenum spacer about two weeks after the exhaust.

On the open road and at regular speeds - it's quiet inside the car - almost stock sounding. Getting more agressive with the pedal will definitely allow you to hear it - but much better with the windows open. Now when I come to a traffic light before an underpass, I get excited when I'm first in line because I know I'm going to gun it and get the echo going - sounds like I'm at a drag strip! I open all the windows and it's loud and sounds great.

So far there has only been one negative - there is an interference with one of the GT Spec braces, so I didn't order that brace. I know another Stillen owner had the same problem and ended up modding the exhaust to accomodate the brace. That, and the price of course. But the difference between a single exhaust at $850 or the double at $1100 is justified if you can use the capability. If you have no plans to go FI, then the Stillen is overkill.

Jumbo, the difference is that Turbo has the headers. It really increases the sound of an aftermarket system.. My gf says that she can hear me coming when I nail it without me even before getting into the apt complex's gates.. Just wondering what my family will say when they come visit me next month.. I can hear my dad saying "What the heck did you do to this car?"

yeah, before the headers the stillen was sweet, not too loud but a really nice sound. the headers really add to the noise level. I'm def going FI though, which is the reason I did it... if I go turbos that might actually quiet it down a bit. I do plan on doing something to make it a bit more quiet but I'm going to wait til after the FI, for now it's not so bad if your chill on the throttle. that's what I ment about econocars beating me out of the hole at a light, it's not that I can't out accelerate them, it's just the attention it'll draw if I do:tongue:

also, i bought the rear bars at the first group buy & I was the first to see that it don't fit with the stillen as I went to install it. I refused to smash the pipe as much as would be required to clear the bar so I still have to come up with a solution there....

Raymond nice video....also I caught glipse of you in parking lot at 6:10

at 2:53 and 4:58 that mercedes suv sounds sick....

Anyone know of any clips out there with stillen headers & the rest of the exhaust stock?

I ran with Stillen headers for about 1-1.5 years with stock exhaust, Stillen CAI and plenum spacer..
edit: At the bottom of the thread there's the APS ST exhaust videos & pictures. Will post 0-60 times soon..

Just have Stillen headers, CAI and motordyne spacer.. A good point of view how the FX will sound with stock exhaust and headers.. (crank up the volume. my camera sucks in recording audio. also I compressed the heck out of the video to upload it properly)

With the addition of Kakumei & finally APS exhaust.

Do you gain any low end with just the headers or does low end kinda stay the same?
Sounds nice btw

The sound change is awesome. It get a deep boom even at the idle and the high end sounds like a race engine. The gains are obvious after 3500-4000 rpm so they're mainly mid range.. Personally I don't know any exhaust mod that will give you gains in the lower rpm range than 3500. +2 timing advance and lighter wheels are the main mods to give you that.. Or a supercharger

Yeah i noticed it  the ML is a 63 AMG and indeed is sick.....been looking for superchargers and turbo's ever since i heard and saw that Mother !@#&* go....!!! :ehh:

Will the Fujitsubo catback work with Kakumei Y-pipe? Anyone knows? Or it's better to go Nismo with Kakumei in terms of performance gain and fitment?
