I'm hearing some knocking when I accelerate... (sometimes), I'm here at Kragen's right now... I'm gonna get that Chevron Techron additive... it always helped with my Acura... do you guys have any other suggestions?
Might be the result of the LMS intake. I read in the org that it can cause a lean mix. I'd use a higher octane gas for a temp fix or a reflash for a better fix.
Reflash like TS reflash or just resetting the ECU? I was @ a drive thru last week and I too was hearing a knocking sound. I reset my ECU because I never did it when I installed the intake and the 1/2' spacer, since then I havent noticed it. I'll check when I get out of work to see if I still hear it.
I KNOW my FX runs lean... (cuz of the LMS intake), you can just smell it when I start up my car...
I'd think that a 35 wouldn't run as lean as a 45 with LMS, at least in the low-rev range where you'd hear it. That said, if you think you're running lean and hearing the knock still, I'd do a reflash, not a reset.
Try to go WOT when the car is absolutely cold and see if you hear it. I'd think that would be the optimal condition for a knock. Correct me if I'm wrong..
Ken - is it when you 1st start it? or is it everytime you start your FX?
How can I check to see if I'm running lean, Ken mentions that he can smell it when he starts his FX besides having to buy a gauge. I don't have a similar symptom that Ken has.
octane booster? but do I have to add it everytime I get gas?
