Doin a bit of reading - and I'm just looking for suggestions on Cams.
Looks like theres a few options:

JWT - they make a S1, S2 & C2
Tomei - They have a few different durations available
HKS - they have a 264*
Nismo - 262 Duration.

What I'm looking for is a good steady idle - I dont want anything that idles like a rotary engine. Good midrange power is what I'm looking for with this. Any input would be great guys/gals.

I think the JWT S2 and C2 give you a better idle than the S1, although you have to change the idle rpm to 800 or so to prevent stalling (maybe just for the 6MT).

i heard cams move your powerband into the mid-high rpm, so you lose out on your daily driven power...not sure if its true but i just read it somewhere.

Stock DE 240/238
S2 256/256
S1 260/260
C2 261/261
C8 272/272
C9 283.5/283.5

Pretty sure S1s were the first ones released. They are essentially the same as Nismo cams.

Just get a Vortech man.

Dam Will, you doing everything that can be done on a NA FX35?

March is coming and I gotta keep up with the 45 guys

Thanks for the specs Viet - I did think about F/I for a minute and I would've gone with the Stillen Stage 2 only cuz of the CARB cert. But I kinda lost intrest in that cuz the install would take a few days and its my daily driver.

Edit.

really doesnt look cost effective. by the time your through installation cams + labour will have brought you to over $1,500. only seems worth it if you are going FI with a built motor and already have the motor out. $1,500 seems too much for 15hp lol

that would be a nice down payment on FI haha

I've had Cams in one of my older cars and it made a huge difference. It didnt cost no $1200 like they do now. I actually got an extra set and had them custom grinded.

Im sure it will help out the FX- how much? who knows? But i do agree on the Cost/HP ratio isnt all that good. :embarrassed:

The costs of installing cams is pretty high if that is the only thing being performed at the time. It really should be done with the engine out. Look at a supercharger before doing internal NA work.

i could install them my self so i dont gotta pay for labor .but would u have to change other internal engine parts or will the stock internals hold up fine . and are the gains good?
