radar detector

ah so mile markers are signs of the air planes? The problem with me having the radar detector in the front of the group is no one likes to follow since I kick up some rocks.

yeah, I think they have signs saying that you can calibrate your speedometer, to see if it's accurate... but actually the cop in the sky uses the markers and see how fast it takes you to drive from one marker to another with a stop watch, and can tell how fast you're going. Then he radios ground patrol with the description of your vehicle and speed. But I hear too... if you decide to fight the ticket... that day, both the cop in the plane and the cop that wrote the ticket have to be in court or it's automatically dismissed.

pretty neat idea...nice find ken

thanks, it's even better if you have blacked out headlight housing AND black grill... cause lidar gun stands for light detection and ranging... which means when they aim at your car... they aim specifically at shinny parts (especially the headlights and front plate cuz it's reflective, thus the 3M duct tape), so when Humberto calls his FX "Stealth"... it literally IS less detectable by laser/lidars. I think somewhere I read that lighter colored cars are a lot more attractive to cops with laser/lidars cuz they can zap them easier...

I was kinda not feeling the idea of getting my grill black but now, I'm thinking it'll be another Spring/Summer mod... (along with the 3M tape that is:wink:)

Its a clear tape so I don't even think thy would even know its on there. I think blacked out tail lights would be much more obvious to get pulled over. Even my blue headlight tint didn't seem to bother any cops.

The tape sounds like a ticket to me or getting pulled over, but it deff an idea

well, you don't want to do the rear plate, because it's a lot more noticeable, especially when the cop is behind you (even worst, behind you at a stop light). But in the front plate, no one really look at it when you're driving.

the 3M tape does NOT make your car invincible to laser/lidar, it simply "dulls" the plate making it less reflective, thus longer time for the detection, by then hopefully your radar detector will have gone off warning you.

actually, I really want to take my front plate off, I just don't want to deal with the 2 holes... everytime I look at any pictures of my FX from the front, I say to myself... "ugh, I really wish that plate wasn't there"

+1 ... Here in Jersey, its illegal to have anything over your license plate whether its the front or rear.
