time to upgrade audio!

Yes you can do just that, just realize that you need a module to convert your factory lines from harness to your sub, an RCA line out to plug into your aftermarket amp for your sub. I hope this is making since to you. If it is the DIY you'll have to remove your spare, plastic liner and check your harness going to the bose amp. you'll need disconnect and tap the remote source, constant, and a separate ground conection. I hope this will help as well...

this is NOT A DIY. i wouldnt knoww what i'm doing. haha. im just tellign them what to do, and theyre hooking me up

Believe it or not, since i saw that picture over a year ago, thats the same type of set up i wanted. he can still recline his rear seats too. i would also put a piano hinge on the floor so i can still have access to the spare tire and stuff.

yeah im, doing the same thing; i want acess to my spare lol. his setup is sick. mynes gonna look liek that except black :)

hopefully it gets done withing the next month or so.....i want it for the warm weather so i can cruise with a booming system hahaha

this is pretty much what it's going to look like kind of:
MS paint drawings LOL but anyways, sumthyn like this...

we're making it so there will still be room to use the trunk cover thing, have the seats in a comfortable reclining position, and if you ned to acess the spare you just need to fold the rear seats down and take off the cover thing, and BLAM you;ve got spare acess.
hopefully it all goes according to plan :)
apparently it's gonna cost me around $1200.......2 subs, good amp, custom work, woofer sound knob control in my dash next to the vdc and snow button (where the blank button is)........so hopefully it all goes well. I'm either going to go with just carpet covering, which will look fine with the rest of the trunk, or i might go with black vinyl. IDk. :-D

Hey when i saw your diagram thats basically what i had in mind when i wanted to do my set up a while back; with enough space to recline the seat and everythin.

now im kind of leaning towards just 1 sub mostly for weight savings but we'll see what happens.

hey, I never even looked at shady's sub box setup until just now, I thought you were talking about a universal big rectangular box. that box looks cool, did shady sell his yet? maybe you could buy his setup?

hmmmm i dont want his, becuae i think he has 12's or something in there. and i would have to get it re-upholstered anyways cuz my niterior is charcoal. mine is going to be more triangluar instad of square on top anyways, i just used his as a reference and stuff.

as my pictures i made above, i'm thinkin two 10's and an amp

yeah, but your picture looks like a friggin huge box, too much space...

I would want to keep it as small as practical, shady's was pretty shallow, but could have been a little smaller too even really. I like contagous' I think it was, one sub on one side, still more than enough to anailate the stock system & good enough to keep up witrh even some nice upgrades everywhere else really & still have a hatch

personally I'm thinking of either the floor or the sides, keep it as tight as I can with as tight & small fit as I can.

well my picture isnt rele to scale...lol
its only gonna be like 8"-10" wide..
sobasically itll be a small sliver behind the rear seat.

its hard to draw accuarately on paint at 1AM lol.

ill make a be
tter drawing in school tommorow by hand and scan it to show u guys.

I take it you figured for a sealed box, do you know how much air space is required for the subs you want? JL makes a 13" low profile sub for a sealed box that uses minimal air space. You pay a bit more for the features though

As for the other speakers, i'm a big fan of Focal. Their higher end stuff (K2p or KPS) is nice.

According to JL the 13" sub needs the same amount of air space. It just does not require to be as deep, since the magnet is not in the way.
