inside the trunk where the spare tire is, theres a box on top that says bose on it. is that the sub or what? cuz if it is, i turn'd the base up on the ride, and it aint bumpin. could it be im not doing it rite or someting

yes that is the sub woofer. it should be working unless there is some wiring that is incorrect.
IMO the sub isn't even that great...you probably wont even notice if its working or not.

Yup, that is the sub. If you want a bumpin sub I suggest an upgrade to a larger sub and a good aftermarket amp.

There's actually 2 Subs in there

Last I recall, the lit. says it's a two speaker enclosure. Never opened it up, so cant say for sure.

From manuf. website:
" Audio System 300-watt Bose® audio system with AM/FM radio, in-dash, single-feed 6-disc CD autochanger with MP3 playback capability and 11 speakers, including two subwoofers"

i think they are 5.25" in size:wink:

*EDIT* heres a pic i saved off the ORG a while ago. That amp is 100watts and it looks like you could add another stock amp! (Bose=Made in Mexico)

Has anyone ever modded this enclosure with other drivers and amp to get better bass? I want to keep my spare, and I don't have room for a box. Size isn't everything. I have an nht supersub at the office. Its got two fairly small drivers hooked to a soundstream amp, and bass is deep and tight.

Dave, i believe some while ago on the org somebody kept the oem encloser but fit a single 10" or single 12" sub. he took the subs out and cut a peice of wood to fit in the encloser and put the sub in the middle if i remember right.

Hey Dave or cheese if you are interested I have two enclosures, one can be use to modify and the other is brand new, never used. I up graded a while back had the old sub was replace after the fact b/c it was doing what your was, not play properly. The dealer let me to keep the old one, I thought about doing a mod to it but never got around to it. so let me know.

Nismo, Can you show more detailed pics of that, & opened up.
I read the IronChef upgrade, & he was powering the stock sub. He then switched out for a separate enclosure cuz he wasnt satisfied. I believe he was using the stock sub components & did not upgrade the drivers
