HFC's / Testpipes for AWD...

get it and dont look back .... as long as you did your research and can tolerate any side affects (Law, noise, smell, etc) then go and get er done!

but I would definitely get the Ypipe. why IMO, it would kinda defeat the purpose of getting HFC for better flow then it will connect to a restrictive stock y-pipe.
also, TS tune is for the Ypipe, but does it also include having HFCs? maybe he can add that to the tune also.

be like NIKE...

The y-pipe is also important. Might be better than the HFC's, to have the whole exhaust matching up size wise. Maybe not though.

:-/
now there's a dilemma again lol....
i think im going to get the HFCs and the tune (if he can do that as a factor) ill ask him tm if not ill go ypipe

You should be ok with the y-pipe. Since it's smaller to larger. Just make sure the HFC's fit to the stock y-pipe size. I think most y-pipes have the same size at the cat's

J, Did you confirm with TS that their mail-in tune will adjust all of these?:
- A/F
- Injector scaling
- Timing advance

I'm asking because I remember Turbo saying something like they don't do injectors and they can't do timing as well. If they can't do injector scaling, they can't add fuel to the mix, which would mean no real gains from your breathing mods (both intake & exhaust). If they can't adjust timing, you won't gain any significant power as well.. I'd make sure to check these before going for it. Adjusting just A/F won't give you anything significant. Just "smoother" power curve..

i think what you are talking about is just the tunder reflash or whatever it's called...theres like two you can do...that one, then another. one is half the price.
im sure they do A/F because wheni was originally talking to him he was talking about A/F and transmission pressure and stuff like that.....so i'm sure they can do +2... i'm calling tadashi today to make sure though

I'm not talking about just +2 advance. That is the minimum advance you can do basically. Heck you can do it for a lunch money with the Cipher loan program. When you get your ECU tuned properly (as with a dyno), they'll try to advance your timing beyond 2 degrees as well as adding more fuel to the mix.

Right now, with all your intake and exhaust mods (breather mods), you should be running a bit lean. With the addition of HFCs, this will increase more. When you add more fuel to the mix (injector scaling), you make more power without reducing the Air ratio in the mix.

This is what I think won't happen: You won't get any injector scaling and you won't get any ignition timing advance beyond +2. And, IMO, a tune (whether $500 or $300) is worthless without those. You'll probably gain 5 hp max while you can gain close to 15-20 with a proper tune.

I say ask around & research a bit more before jumping on the mail-in TS thing. If you were in Cali, I'd say go for it definitely but you're not and they can't dyno your FX and they can't know what & how much they can adjust.

tadashi has had many vq,s on the dyno & pretty much has a very good idea of what he,ll need to adjust & where based on what he,s seen on other comperable cars... he will not be able to actually tune, but he will be able to predict a tune that is going to get you in the right ballpark at least & pretty damn close at best... he def can & will do fuel & timing alterations.

he def can & will do fuel & timing alterations.

If he does that on the mail-in program, I don't have anything to say against it.. My question was whether he'd do the fuel & timing on a mail-in ECU. Basically, if he doesn't it's worthless.. If he does, I'd say it's a good deal.

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
im calling him in a but because he doesn't get in untill 1 cali time

im pretty sure with the number of people who have done it that its a good this to do

of course he does & of course it would be mostly worthless without that... they also do a "tuner" flash which doesn't include fuel & timing, made for the guy who wants a piggyback but still wants the other things that ts does like tranny pressure & throttle, but full tune is also air & fuel correction based on prediction & analysis compared to the ones he's actually dynotuned...

im calling him now

first time I've ever had to be put on hold while calling Technosquare

alright, i'm geting the HFC's

i spoke to tadashi on the phone and he said he highly recommends HFC's over Ypipes with my setup, and that he's seen better gains with HFC's over ypipes on NA vehicles...

soooo im going to go with the HFC's and the tune, and be done for a while :)

p.s. here's the info for the technosquare flash/tune

is our HFC is same the G35/350Z or you still need modification.

I'm lookin for MXP HFC's on the G35/350Z.
