Hey guys - My car is a 2006. I need to keep my car looking stock. I have a girlfriend and I don't think she would like it very much if I have this big American-size space in my car with all this hot gear in it, while she's driving a little Arab car with nothing in it. She'd give me hell, so I'd rather hide my mod behind a stealth installation.

Hey Dr.2K i am new to this and i just got my fx about two weeks ago but i have caught the mod bug but i am stuck. I just bought the alpine IVA-D106 screen and i want to put it in the same place as you, where the clock was located but however i do not know where to find the din replacement. Where did you get yours from?

Pierce, that looks good. I did the same thing with my 45Buddah, nav, live traffic, kenwood KVT696, with iPod interface, USB interface with steering interface that allowed me to use steering buttons it was an excellent set up...... Of course I had up graded the speakers to diamonds D6 rear and jbl component up front and subwoofer box of course with amps for each.... It was awesome, I was about to add a digital equalizer to get an additional control over the already amazing factory eq....and then as luck will have it crash.... Accident so I have stripped out everything from the car..... I am willing to sell the unit it's only seen two months of use.... At a discount but I am getting an 08 fx in about 2 wks and staring all over again.... Can't wait..... But pierce I did not think about feeding the or unit into the auxiliary jacks.... My OE was dead anyway but was able to maintain everything except stereo related function.... But thanks for the tip on the reverse feed into the aftermarket unit..... I will provide pics when I am done....

Thanks for the info/thread. I have an 03 w/o tech package so im looking to try and do the samething if possible. Seems I heard that the navi-systems were having some trouble what about yours has it been working properly or have you had any problems come up?

Are you referring to the alpine navi? If so, what kind of problems are you referring to? I have not run into any real problems with the nav unit.

No not particularly the Alpine just aftermarket NAVi except for the portable type were having connection problems not getting correct information (not getting updated stuff). Question ? Has the Alpine been discontinued or can you still get that NAVI- system that you know of?
 
My particular model has been discontinued but there is an updated model. Just look on Alpine's website and you can see them. The map updates are not cheap but I have not updated mine sine I installed the unit myself.

Yeah I saw the updated version but it had some bad reviews so im thinking about getting a Pioneer model. just have to checkout pricing to see which one is better in quality verses price.

Did you install, and does the alpine and bose stereos work thru the same speakers, how did you hook them up.
 
The "coming and going" happens in radio mode only or it happens in CD (I'm afraid to mention tape :smile (2):)
