Hmmmm. That's what I thought. I'll check with a magnet & get back to you.
Either way, I would do the whole bend & not just straights. It's more work for the shop, . . but if they're willing . . why not?

At 2 of the shops that I went to today only one had stainless steel but very small amount but the guy wouldn't even give me a price. He said he would only start at $70 bucks and work from there. The other shop (shop I'm thinking of going with) said he only has aluminum. $60 and install the nismo for $100.

Dave, I like the route you took. I might consider taking a drive out that way.

It'd be worth it. Great shop @ Great price. LMK & we'll hook it up. Maybe we can schedule a quick GTG with some others after your install in Culver City.

Bends are stainless all the way.
Funny thing though . . . magnet stuck to Y, & new modified bends only, but nothing else.
Not the can, mid, extention . . . nada.
What's up with that?

I bent mine in too a little. No need to remove it, cuz it helps keep dirt outa the axle area.
Why dont you just have Jeff install it for you, then mod it elsewhere? He warrantees everything . . even if you chop it up a bit.

OK if I have W.Covina Nissan do the install will they also do the bend to not touch the heat shield? Or did you guys do this at the chop shop.

I went back to the muffler shop to ask a few more questions about adding extensions at the can. I was told they have to send out for the bended pipe and have never heard of blue grease but will weld a little bit away from the can so not to show burn marks.

I Dunno what the protectant is called, but it's blue.
Yes, WC Nissan will bend it for you . . then drive out to my hood for chopping.
It's worth driving the 20 or so miles with the pipes tucked in. You wont believe how LOUD the mofo is when it's not pushed out. RICE city.

Ok Dave...Address to yur guy.

Does anyone know the differences between the Nismo and the HKS exhaust as in my opinion from what i've heard so far on clips the HKS keeps the more exotic sound as the nismo is kinda deeper and with more " Ruffle" in it.

Please correct me if i'm wrong but trying to figure out wich system is best for me as i do not want to much "noise" and want to keep as much of the OEM sound as possible.

Anyone...??

wow raymond, you have been busy asking about the HKS. I think you already answer your own question. You should get the HKS mid pipe and rear section as I believe they are a high quality part. There is no way to keep the same sound by changing the muffler to something differant.
You can however paint the OEM muffler and weld new tips to it and that way you can have a "new" muffler and same sound.

I always wanted the HKS myself , but bought the Nismo since I got it at a great price. Honestly I haven't heard a HKS in person yet, but I am willing to trade my Nismo for a Hks. Some people love there Nismo, I like my Nismo.

I also read about your fading trim TSB, talk to Cheryl there at Metro Infiniti.

Hahah yes i was getting a bit fanatic with that question sorry :embarrassed:
But it brought me my answers so again thank you very much for the help :top:

It's easy to make an exhaust note throaty, harder to make it sound kinda different than others.

Of the G35 exhausts I've heard that sound different without being throaty. The Amuse is badass. The HKS dual is cool too, fast intentions is ok.

Does HKS provides a duel system for the FX as well...?? Or are u talking about the G system and extending it..??

I believe he talking about the Hks hi-power exhaust for the G and you should extend the tips for the FX
I don't remember seeing any FX with the HKS hi-power, just some knock-offs.

you can generally put any G/Z exhaust on with some modification

HKS will keep the same DIA plumbing as the stock setup. Nismo will be a 3" aft the Y. That said, I think you're likely to get better gains (especially up top), even if small ones with the Nismo.

What's the difference between their Duel Hi power system and their standard system wich they offer for the FX...?? Only the diameter of the piping, maybe for more HP cars...??

I don't think you will get anymore HP (correct me if Im wrong). But the exhaust note will be different, also the hi-power would look pretty wicked from the rear.
BTW get a HID fog kit, I read your sig and you didn't mention and foglight upgrade. It really helps at night.
