Will, if Valley couldn't get it done for you, stop by Mike's Muffler in El Monte on Garvey, right off the Durfee exit on the 10. He does very good work and is a G35 owner, so is very familiar with our configuration.

I took it to Valley Muffler - and they were kinda busy & was about to close - they charged me $50 bucks and it kinda looks like a $50 job - one of the tips is higher than the other.....so no for pics now. I think I will take it to Mikes this week. I didnt know they still existed, I used to go there when I had my Corolla.

When I left WC Nissan - man this thing was loud. It sounds a lot better now that the tips are extended. It just looks F'n crappy. I dont know how you drove from West Covina to LA with all that noise, Dave.

Hey Will, glad to see you've gone ahead with this. You wont regret the decision. Besides it looking worlds better than stock, it should bring out the best from that spacer. Sorry to hear about the tip extension issues. I was real nervous about chopping up such a sweet piece of hardware, but in the end the workmanship of AAA muffler on Venice & La Cienega was top notch. They measured multiple times to get a near perfect modification. As a side note, there is a history of Z guys that have complained about uneven tips, but I think the hangars are bendable. On the FX job though, that shouldnt be an issue if you cut the piping at the can before the bend. When you weld the new bends on, you have the option of any angle out.

& yes, it was so ricer loud on the way home. Once ends got pulled out, it was very tame. It will get louder over time, & I'll mention again, if it sees a lot of heat, as in a paint booth, it turns into a bit of a monster. In a very good way though.

Great choice, but you should hear what my nismo sounds like now. After being cooked in a paint booth after my recent bumper fix, the 140 degree heat and cure time has cooked my muffler. Now the thing is really broken in, & has added at least 5-10 db on the ears.

 before seeing the "db" I thought you were going to say 5-10 HP

hmmmmmm $950 with installation, huh? I LOVE the "Nismo" stamped on the tips too... now you guys really got me thinking... :rolleyes:I wish I can hear both to compare...

Here's my 35 nismo setup with 100 miles on the system. It is louder now, & I'll have to get some new clips for you guys later. The Doc has clips of his 45 that he should post for you. Yet to hear his under load. All exhausts sound much diff. revving as opposed to when it's moving.

oh boy the nismo sounds soo sweet. it sounds sweet revving and under load (gto's vid) it just sounds fabulous.

if i keep the FX i am honestly considering this as a future mod, mostly for the sound alone. i heard the gains are not that amazing (maybe 10 whp 5tq?) or something like that when combined with other mods...what do you guys (with the nismo exhaust) think about the gains?

You have to hear it live. It's only better.
I can only speak for myself, but butt-dyno says there are gains. My 35 is pretty quick, but then again it's always been. RWD only, helps quite a bit from what I understand. Although without a g-tech, my crude measurements with a stopwatch is low to mid 6's to 60.
Alone, any exhaust you slap on will bring minimal gains, but with freer intake delivery, the extra boost is there.
The Nismo Y & everything else after it is perfect for the N/A. No loss on the bottom whatsoever.

Will post sound clip under load asap.

please please... I'm getting so excited about this mod... I called Stillen to see if they can come down on the price since W.Covina's got the special going for $950 installed... but they wouldn't budge... He replied that the Stillen exhaust will give me more H.P.

so, I'll probably go with the Nismo if I don't end up with one of the used Stillens either from LeBron23 or rookie (if HumbertoCALI end up not buying it, but it doesn't look good for me:embarrassed:)

btw, does anyone know where LeBron23 is? Profile says he hasn't log on since July 2nd...
