Has anyone upgraded stock HID to LED and was it better , did u need to use a canbus to correct any errors or what kit did you use, any recommendations?

I'm using something like this, but a different brand called Sinoparcel for about 6 months without any issues thus far. It looks just like this brand.

I’ve looked at several brands of these, but wondering if the distribution spread will be altered greatly or at at all.
What did yours turn out like?

If you really want to see the benefit of upgrading your headlights, you better do it proper way, something like this
Bi-led Aozoom laser
It is in russian but looking at the pics you will see the difference.

these are insanely great looking! WOW. I already ordered Auxito, they have a new design out that is a 1:1 size to the HID bulbs. If you look up Auxito D2s LED, they have two versions. I’ll see how those work, bc I’d hate to crack the seal on my flawless headlight lenses. I also found several on AliExpress for anywhere from $80 to $1100. That’s a huge spread, so I’d have to do some research on this type of setup now. I wonder why I never see these around?

Yep in asia/europe you can get your headlights upgraded with these kind of led projectors.

Since you can order them here, it’s just a matter of install. Of course no local shop is going to know what they’re doing, as 99% don’t anymore, but even as a mechanic of 35 years I REALLY don’t like cracking open OEM headlights on such a rare car. If it was an F150? Sure, no prob. But I’d be mad as hell if I goofed somehow during the install of these.
It appears I can order in identical size projector, too.
Honestly though, I was in the process of turning my F150 halogens into HID, and before I started, a friend who owns a 4x4 shop introduced me to Heise brand LED bulbs, which he said I wouldn’t have to pay for if I wasn’t happy with the results. The results were better than projectors, I still have the same set 7 years later.

This is my primary reason for trying out $90/set D2S LED in that new configuration on my QX before going crazy with these Aozoom.

I know what you mean. I did open my Camry's headlights and upgraded to HIDs (this was like in 2008), and it wasn't fun, so I'm not going to do it to my QX, however the lights suck on QX and I would get a shop to do it for me if I were in russia or europe somewhere that specializes on those.

I just upgraded my 2017 OEM's to this one from Auxito and I can see clearly now. 8-) I purchased the 6K ones with all the Reviews and only issue was closing the Dust Cover....it was a snug fit. Now it appears that Auxito came out with just a replacement LED in 6500K White that is really plug n play. Total install took approx. 15-20mins per light. Let's see how long they last as advertised with 2yr warranty and 50K hours lifespan.

IMG_4117.jpeg image.jpg IMG_4117.jpeg So I installed the Auxito LED plug-and-play 6500’s in the headlights this weekend, and if you buy two items you get $30 off, so I also bought the Auxito h8/h9/h11/h16 6500 white fog light bulbs. The fogs were $29 so basically you get those free.

WOW what a difference! The dogs actually serve a purpose now instead of looking like an afterthought they through on with some spare bulbs they leftover from 1985 ! The colors also match now. INCREDIBLY bright, and a good cutoff so you’re not blinding everyone. I may not be able to signal a space station, like the video shows that I posted earlier in the thread of the Aozoom projectors, but I seriously fail to see a $1000+ value in those over these. I take my 82 year old mother to dinner every Saturday night, and she was startled at how well she could see. She said “it’s as if it’s not even dark out honey! What did you do to your car?!?! Why don’t they put these in every car?” My sentiments exactly, Ma.

As far as I can tell so far, the build quality of these is on par with my $100/pair Heise LED I’ve used in my other vehicles. The only difference is on the Heise, you can loosen a tiny Allen key screw and rotate the LED panel to either have the LEDs at 12 and 6 o’clock, 3 and 9 o’clock, and any variation in between. The Auxitos came ideally situated at 3 & 9, so there was no need for that adjustment anyway.

The design is nearly identical, with one LED filament per side of the “blade”, which is far better than those bulbs with a dozen or more filaments and even ones on the end of the bulb. Those things just puke out obnoxiously bright light in every direction; the beam isn’t focused.

I also looked at a plug and play HID to D2S LED bulb option from Lasfit, and a couple eBay/Amazon no name specials like Novacar (sp?), but wasn’t going to risk it which the no-names no matter how cheap. Lasfit has great reviews and the same technology, and they’re even currently offering sponsorship for “select cars”, basically cars that they haven’t had a test on yet, and ours is one of them. The offer is 20% off purchase, but if you write up a well written review, or better yet make a video, they refund your money 100%.
The contact email for that offer is youtube@lasfit.com if you’re interested.

I will say this: install is a breeze if you’ve ever installed clip in style bulbs of any sort, like ones that used to come on Acura.
This bulb technology has been around for a while now, where you don’t have to remove the ballasts, but until now there has always been the issue of that fat back end not fitting under the dust cover. These bulbs do away with that; in fact, they’re a few mm shorter than the HID bulbs! If you’ve never lubed the seal on your headlight bulb dust cover, it’s gonna be a bitch to remove, but when you reinstall it, just spread some dielectric grease on the gasket and it slides like butter. You should also grease the gasket on the fog bulbs if you replace them. DO NOT USE any other type of grease other than silicone based, or you gonna wind up making matters worse in the future due to petroleum base impregnating the rubber. No brake grease, bearing grease, etc guys! Also put a dab on the connectors and the connector gaskets to not only keep out moisture and prevent corrosion, but also to make your job easier next time you need to disconnect.

The packaging was great, dense shock absorbing foam inside with cutouts that keep bulbs nice and snug, a pair of white sterile lint-free gloves (not the crap latex we usually get, if anything), and a super sturdy and well made box. Instruction manual is in there as well, even though guys like us never need that crap!

I hope this helps someone, and please let me know if I should make a separate post of this write up. Thanks for reading!!! Here’s some pics:

EDIT: sorry, I’m having hard time uploading, it keeps telling me file is too large.

It’s a snug fit if you didn’t put dielectric/silicone grease on the gasket. Lube that up and it slides right on! If it’s a clearance issue, then the bulbs aren’t seated properly. UNLESS you got the old style ones with the fat back end enclosing a tiny fan inside…..the new versions don’t have that thing, in fact they’re smaller than the HID bulbs as I mentioned in my post above.

Nice! Yes, looks like I bought the 1st Gen with the little pig tail connector. Do you see any Blue in the 6500K LED's you installed? This will be my next set and the dust covers should fit OEM like you stated.

No blue hue at all. That’s not something I’m looking for. The purist bright white light is what I was hoping for, and that’s what I got. In my experience, you will have to lower them just a touch which can be a little tricky so if you wind up needing help with that, shoot me a message! I really think these things are game changers.

I mean a camera picks up more light than an eye sees, not saying your lights are not bright, but are they really that bright and worth spending $100+ instead of some Osram HIDs?

In my experience, LED has 3 primary advantages over HID.

1) Longevity. In our application, it’s not too hard to access, but many vehicles today require bumper and other panel removal just to access. This is not something I like to do often, so with the average lifespan of an LED being ~50,000 hours, vs the HID average of anywhere from 3,500-7,000 hours, tge LED wins.

2) Purity of color, clarity, and brightness.

3) Durability.

Every car or truck or bike I’ve owned over the last 10 years has been switched to LED, and it’s something I’ll continue to do, especially now that the tech allows us to not have to retrofit new optics, or reworking to eliminate the expensive ballast systems.
