The Random Question Thread

There's nothing else can be clogged that I can think of. If cat internals dislodged, you should get a check engine light. What year is the car? Stock exhaust?

I also forgot to mention that yes his car came up with the check engine light, we did a test and came up with code p0011 which is the intake timing control solenoid, but i dont think this is the problem for the exhaust

same thing on my 2009 fx. both cats rattle and have to be replaced. $1695. from my mechanic i called infiniti and spoke with the parts person and he said those are a common problem with infiniti when they rattle. the car is out of warranty so now i have to pay up. I wont be going with the stealarship otherwise they will want 2500 plus.

How hard is it to remove a steering wheel? I found one a a junk yard in excellent condition with controls for 40$ ! I want to replace my faded peeling old steering wheel.

The most pain is remove the two torx screw that holds the airbag onto the steering wheel. I have went into having bent the flimsy tab that the nut was welded on to the airbag unit. I ended up destroying the steering wheel bottom cover in order to remove the two screws. Now, there are a few other FX, these two screws comes out without any problem.

Take a look at the 2003- 2008 Paddle Shifter Installation DYI here for reference on the torx screw (pic #9)

It's really easy. The torx screws came out easily for me, but the nut behind the airbag was hard to remove, took me about 10 minutes

Okay, I ordered rear sway bar links to replace some suspension parts since I'm near 300K and I just reolsf replaced the fronts, but... They're nowhere to be found on the car.

Does our vehicle come with them? I see it on the FSM diagram, but I don't see them on my car. Does anyone have a real life picture of them on our cars? 2006 FX35 RWD

Edit: Just found out.. my car doesn't have a rear sway bar. fml

A lot of RWD were adding the rear sway bar as a mod... It'll tighten up your rear end around corners... :)
So, let me get this straight... The RWD models didn't come with a rear sway bar? Or was it the sport models that had them?

From what I remember no RWD FX's had the rear sway bar... Most were buying them from INFINITIPARTSUSA.com and just bolting them on...

Well, I'll be damned. I was looking for where my link should go.. For 2 days, only to find the bracket missing. Then, I realized... I have no sway bar lol
