What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Did you paint them yourself? If so, would you recommend as DIY or have it professionally done?
Done myself. I'm a serial caliper painter lol
The thing is with this sort though is they have a very smooth finish as standard so you don't want to spoil it. I used a thin paint, brushed on a couple of coats. Another one would be even better.

What brand paint did you use?

Got an oil change, and the service guy from Infiniti was excited to see the FX35 with an aero kit. Just wished I had already found a set of 21" wheels or 22" black wheels that I like to go with my FX.

I actually only had the BMW listed for sale and planned on selling the FX later. But in discussions with buyer, he asked why I was selling BMW and I mentioned I was really selling both cars to downsize. Turns out he always wanted an FX to daily and wanted to keep the BMW as a second car. So he made an offer on both and it was just easier to not have to list the FX separately.

Replacing with just one car. Really only need one as my wife and I carpool and have a short commute. Only put 10K miles last year on both cars. Looking like I'll get an F15 X5 50 w/ 3rd row. I occasionally need the 3rd row when I drive family around and it runs a 12 second 1/4 mile. Put a tune on it and it's over 500hp. Likely won't go as crazy as with my last 2 cars, but will probably lower a bit and put wheels on it.

F15 X5 is a beautiful car!!! I got my parents' e39 525i, good on gas on highway so it's cut my gas consumption in half almost. FX went to wife who's daily commute is 8 miles.

Test drove the X5 50i, unfortunately my wife couldn't see out of the car too well. The instrument cluster is really tall. Also, the dealership was really slimy (imagine all of your used car salesmen stereotypes). Ended up leaving and saw a Volvo dealership so decided to test drive the XC90. As it turns out, it drove really well and I didn't miss the V8. That was 2 weeks ago and went on vacation, and after getting back, went back to dealership and got this...

2017 Volvo XC90 R Design in passion red. All of the options except for air suspension because I really wanted the upgraded Bowers and Wilkins stereo and there weren't any with both. Not too big of an aftermarket so likely just lower it and get the Polestar tune.

I got my car back from the Bodyshop had the rear corner panel fix due to an accident and had all the plastic pieces color matched to the car

Thanks and it was a bit strange to watch the cars drive away. It all happened very quickly, didn't even intend to sell them together. I'll stick around, the Volvo forums are very different and seem very conservative when it comes to mods.

Wow Shadow, its hard to see those cars go. Congrats on your new whip! Hope you stick around
