Z tube

Hi everyone i already use the search button on this forum but the answer don't satisfied me. I want to put just the Z-tube on my FX35 (i have a K/N filter in the stock air box) it's there any benefit on fuel economy and the sound will be better on the exhaust.

I found on ebay a Z tube fiber carbon exactly the same on OEM but it's larger diameter to suck more air it's suppose to be more power???

Z tube is much better than the stock restrictive piping, Im not sure if it will sound any different with the stock air box. performance gains will be minimal...probably won't be noticable

So basically stillen z-tube and the original z-tube from 350z are same things?
and give same performance?
Does Z-tube from 350z fits our FX (I have 05 FX35) with no problem??
Thanks!

Not the same thing. Z-tube is Stillen's tube, not what comes off of a 350Z. In fact the stock 350Z tube is the same as the stock FX tube - the left one in the photos above. Nothing else is called a Z-tube. All other brands lablel their systems as "Cold Air Induction" or "High Flow Intake".

Are you sure? I thought the one on the right in sirtrojans pic was the 350z unit and that Stillen named their part the "z-tube" because it looks like the tube that comes on the "Z"....

EDIT: From the Stillen website:

"The intake tract on the G35 and FX35 was not designed for maximum performance. The 350Z, which shares its engine with these vehicles, is equipped with a much more efficient intake tube that is interchangeable with the G35 and FX35. OEM parts are expensive, however. The STILLEN Z-Tube offers all the performance of the 350Z tube without the high OEM price tag."

DOUBLE EDIT: The 350z part is definitely the one on the right in the picture. You can see it HERE.

Stillen "z-tube" vs. OEM intake tube
the Stillen doesn't come with those couplers on each side, they are re-used from the OEM intake tube.

OEM intake tube vs. 350Z OEM intake tube (also called z-tube)

See how the OEM 350Z tube doesn't fit as well on the G35? That's why Stillen made theirs with that little bend to it.

Do the other tubes mentioned above better than the Stillen tube? I have a Stillen K&N filter which replaced the stock box... but still have the facory tube...
