Getting to be that time of the year in New England. Trying to decide between Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 and Yokohama IceGuard IG51V. Anyone running either of these snow tires and have any recommendations/comments?

Blizzaks here as well. I've taken it up forest service roads here in the Northwest, no issues at all.

There was this popular snowshoeing trail where cars were turning around at the end of the road. Must have seen at least 8 cars getting stuck in the turn (icy/compact snow conditions, slushy with the amount of traffic). Blizzaks made the turn with zero drama. Parking for the trail were on top of snowbanks. You either shovel out a spot or take a spot someone else shoveled out. I drove right onto the snowbank. When I was leaving the person waiting for my spot wasn't sure if I could even get out (snow was up to about the middle of the front vents). Crawled out without any drama.

Greg, you can't go wrong with either, both great winter tires.

I've used blizzaks with no problems in these new England winters.

I run Yokohama Geolander AT/S and love em. They have built in ice cleats and are rated to last 50k

Always ran Blizzaks for 7 years before I moved. Was really happy with the tire choice
