Hi All,
So like a few other members up here in frozen Canada, My FX50 is garaged for the winter. I have a question on a recommendation for fuel stability.I know to keep the tank full........but I have never added any kind of stabilizer.

Would you recommend this ? Which product, Seafoam or Stabil ?

Thank you.

I've used Stabil for many years and can't say anything bad about it. It preserves fuel perfectly fine as far as I've been able to tell.

I used stabil when I was in mo. Never had any problems in the 10 years that I put it the Honda S2000.

After you add the stabilizer make sure to run the engine for a while so you get it through your system.

Thanks,
So I will add some Sta-bil today. 10oz per a full tank correct ?
Yes, our tank holds 90 liters so for storage add 285mls or 10ozs of stabilizer.

i use sea foam since i only drive my fx once a week and fill once a month if im lucky.

Yes, good point. I add the stabil at the gas station before adding fuel so the splish splash mixes it as well as the drive home.

I do not store my FX, but do winter store the motorcycles every winter, and I always add stabilizer. (Buy it from Canadian Tire on sale) and have never had a problem starting in the spring. Should work just as well for the FX.

Same. Whatever you buy (if you haven't done it all already) the instructions are on the bottle as far as quantity. As mention d before make sure to run it for a little to get it into the system.

I should do this.. this is week 3 of the FX sitting not being started or driven...

So, the FX is out of the garage :smile (2):I am busily trying to burn off the tank of fuel that has STABIL in it.
Once she is completely empty I will load in a fresh tank of 94. Would you guys do anything else, add a cleaner or Techron ?

Thanks.

I always have lots of Bounce fabric softener sheets spread around the car and engine compartment (this keeps away any mice etc.) so I remove them. I then do a quick check over everything including tire pressures. Then I just drive it.
